He is winning at a rate of 35% this year and is 52-87 for his Knicks career. The amazing thing about the 35% rate is that it was while he had his team from last year and was playing his vets over the rookies in his chase for the playoffs.

Someone can check but I think this is his current record with/without Steve Nash
With Nash as a starter: 173 wins 57 losses
Without Nash as a starter: 91 wins 175 losses

In the four years D'Antoni coach Nash, he only missed 16 games. In those 16 games he is 4 and 12. Amare and Marion both played in those games.

Despite having an older and less talented team. Nash led teams after D'Antoni left still have a winning record with two different coaches and guys missing significant playing time (Amare). I won't even go into detail about Nash impact on the Mavericks.

I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

I have not read the entire thread. But I agree. I thought he was a players coach and so far he has been anything but. Well except for David Lee, he turned on almost every player on the roster. Losing shows your real hyde and he ain't got a thick one.

I think thats the case for most, if not all coaches. Which is why I kept saying that coaches coach to win games not to try and break in rooks when the playoffs are still within reach. I wasn't suprised not see Jordan Hill during the months of november-january because the coach went with experience and players he could trust. Did I want to see more of Hill and Douglas? Absolutely. But at the same time, if anyone looked at it from a coaches perspective, and you realize, as MDA said, "coaches are fired for losses" especially by an owner like Dolan, I understood why he did what he did. He wanted to win.

obviously he failed doing it his way.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Like everyone else on this team I think Mike is coasting somewhat and just waiting for 2010 when we build the team he was brought here to actually coach in the first place.

It's unprofessional in my opinion because he could be coaching the players that might be here but it appears to be the case that he's just coasting waiting for better days.

A number of our players are doing the same thing.

This is what you get with guaranteed contracts. When the situation is a mess they stop caring and coast. They just show up, do the bare minimum, and go home.

Kind of what we all do when we get to the point in a job that we hate it. You get to work, do the bare minimum, coast through the day, just so you can go home.

Same thing.
