Its funny because the Knicks get a third string point guard who goes out and gets 5 pts and 6 assists in his first game and some people are comparing him to Steve Nash. A guy who was the second pick in the NBA draft when LBJ, Melo and Bosh were drafted doesn't play all year for a coach who won't play bigs but when given a chance gets 8pts 8 rebs in his first action in three months after he was dumped for waiver fodder and fans aren't supposed to notice or question why he was moved.

Sergio was a -6 last nite & you got peeps calling him Nash Lite... Darko was a +35 in his first game, i think it's fair to note that Darko was a piece that could have helped this team off the bench if given a chance.

Let's call Darko "Duncan Lite"

i was thinking more along the lines of Ewing Lite, but Duncan Lite fits too.

I don't remember Ewing ever shooting from the 3 point line. I didn't watch every game he played though.

Darko never took any 3's either (but i do remember Ewing attempting a 3 or 2 in his time)

I agree with most who thought Darko would have helped the knicks but as most have said he and didn't get on same page some how interally...

I remember Ewing hitting that toss up three pointer that sealed game 5 against the Celtics in 1990...the memories

Darko was a second round draft pick who was a bust. He's been in the league 7yrs and has played for 5 teams. He has attitude problems from his Rookie year. Darko had a decent game - big deal the guy has had 7 YRS to proof himself in this league and hasn't.

MDA endorsed Shaq in Phoenix, no?

We don't know what goes on behind the scenes but it was downright confusing that Darko never got a shot.

Everyone has their favorites and Mike is no different but to not give the guy a shot was stupid.

I thought when we traded for Darko that he was an automatic to start at Center for us. Not really happy he didn't get that chance I thought he would have done for us what he did for the Magic in that one good year of his.

But, well....it's over with.

It really pisses me off how D'antoni needs everyone and their mother to have a jumpshot. I mean, seriously. Offense isn't just about shooting. This weak shyt is really starting to piss me off. I don't care what issue he had with Darko, he would've been able to help this team off the bench. But no, he plays Bender over him because D'antoni is attracted to 7 footers who chuck 3s. Ridiculous.

first of all, he was a #2 overall pick in the lottery, not a 2nd round pick... 2nd, no one's saying we expected big things out of Darko off the bench, just that he could have helped provide some shotblocking & defense to a team that was desperately in need of some this season... DW traded for him for a reason, he obviously liked some of the things he thought Darko brought to the table... MDA for whatever reason decided not to play him... as we've all seen MDA's roster rotations have not made sense this year... we traded Q Rich for Darko, we don't play him, & then trade him away for Brian Cardinal & cash, after which we waive Brian Cardinal... please help me make sense of these moves because if we were just after cash savings all along, we could have simply bought out Q Rich & saved ourselves the trouble.

8/8/2 was really what I thought he could have given us. He had to play and shake off some rust. He wasn't given that opportunity for whatever reason, perhaps reasons we don't know about from behind closed doors.

I thought he could help.

8/8/2 would be what he might put up with starter's minutes, but off the bench i was looking for something around 6/5/1.5 in ~18 mpg, which still wouldn't have been bad when u consider his size in the frontcourt would have helped match up with other team's bigger C's this season that D Lee had a tough time guarding.

ur right we're not privy to what goes on behind the scenes so we can only speculate.
