Or LJ - he was in pretty bad shape and turned it around in NY and made a role for himself, becoming a Knick legend in the process. There is no way to know what will happen but have a little faith.

Hooray Donnie Walsh, we get some personality for a chance to finish out season with TMAC
the PG S.Rodriquez I hear has upside also. Anyone whom is a PG whom can displace Chris "Terrible" Duhon
makes me happy!

Check my sig.

I am a big McGrady fan and I know him coming here is the kiss of death for his career.

this is a lot more similar to the McDyess situation because we gave up a lottery pick to bring him here... of course i'm rooting for T-Mac to do well, but the similarities are there... LJ was still playing & was a productive player at the time we traded for him... T-Mac is coming back from knee microfracture surgery & a year of inactivity just like McDyess was.

Yes but T-Mac is not a long term signing, so we really don't lost much if he can't produce. It is better for us if he does produce and can serve as a recruiter to get top tier talent here (assuming he will sign for a lot less) but if he is still injured then we just let him walk. With McDyess we traded away a ton of assets and got someone with a longer contracts (at least thats what I remember - could be wrong on the contract).

we ended up dumping McDyess a year later anyway... if T-Mac can't produce he won't be retained either... bottomline is that both these guys are coming in with a huge question mark over their heads & not having proved they could produce again coming off their rehabs... tonight is T-Mac's first test, let's all hope he instills some faith that this trade wasn't just for $10 mil of cap space this summer.
