this is a lot more similar to the McDyess situation because we gave up a lottery pick to bring him here... of course i'm rooting for T-Mac to do well, but the similarities are there... LJ was still playing & was a productive player at the time we traded for him... T-Mac is coming back from knee microfracture surgery & a year of inactivity just like McDyess was.
Yes but T-Mac is not a long term signing, so we really don't lost much if he can't produce. It is better for us if he does produce and can serve as a recruiter to get top tier talent here (assuming he will sign for a lot less) but if he is still injured then we just let him walk. With McDyess we traded away a ton of assets and got someone with a longer contracts (at least thats what I remember - could be wrong on the contract).
