According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, when LeBron James was presented with several trade proposals, he preferred the one that would put Amar'e Stoudemire on the Cavaliers. Earlier in the season, LeBron was hopeful that the Cavaliers would acquire Stephen Jackson in a trade. The Warriors and Cavaliers were unable to do a deal in that case, but the Cavs are believed to be in the hunt for Stoudemire.

According to the article, there have been no indications that Stoudemire and the Suns are "anywhere near" an agreement on a contract extension for Stoudemire, who could become a free agent this summer. Miami is reportedly going all-out to attempt to add Stoudemire, and sources say Stoudemire would prefer to play where it's warm.

Does this include trade proposals that included Jamison? Because up until today, Jamison was untouchable according to the Wizards. Amare has been floated out and about for awhile.

if that's the case, why did the Cavs strike out so badly getting him stephen jackson?

It takes two teams. I'm not sure the Warriors would take anyone on the Cavs roster other than Lebron. Nellie still runs that team.

im not saying they aren't getting him help, but he wanted amar'e and according to that report he also wanted stephen jackson, who was traded for scraps - they could have easily done better than raja bell and vladrad.

They were requesting the possibility but reports were that they wanted to keep Jamison.

The Clippers will buy out Gooden, a league source said.

The Cavaliers’ decision to acquire Jamison came a day after talks between the teams intensified. Cleveland was waiting on the Phoenix Suns to respond to their offer for Amar’e Stoudemire.

Well then, forget McGrady. If Lebron wants to play with Amare why don't we just go after him. I hear he is available

Jamison has 2 more years left on his contract after this year making $13.3 million in 2010-2011 and $15 mil 2011-12. They wouldn't, IMO, trade for Jamison and his long, expensive contract, unless Lebron committed to stay.

My guess is Lebron commited to accept his player option for next year!

That makes a lot of sense. Lebron may be a lot of things but I don't think anyone describe him as being douche with his team.

he's said time again that his decision july 1 is going to be about him and his family.

This is the trade deadline and things change. LeBron made up his mind sooner, IMO.

Are you "all in" - that was your quote, I believe regarding the Knicks offer to Houston for TMac. Well, Cleveland can and probably did the same. They are "All In" for winning a championship this year and next year. And they now have the guns to do it!

They aren't building for the future. They are building for NOW! and they just added a great piece.

LeBron is staying in Cleveland.

I don't think Jamison puts them over the top. Not even close. But let's play this game..

What kind of team will the CAVS have next year, even if they win a title this year?

LeBron doesn't want to be a one-and-done.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

The key to the deal is they didnt give up JJ Hickson.

I got happy before because I thought Hickson was traded. Cleveland basically received Jamison gift wrapped.

Now lets see what happens with Telfair or Booby before 3 pm tomorrow.

The only expiring contract of significance that they have is Delonte West. Shaq expires this summer.

Can someone explain to me what the Clips get out of all this? They give up Thornton and get Gooden, who they are buying out? So they facilitated all this just to remove Thornton from their cap? Strange.... he's still on rookie scale, isn't he?
