Bingo. Walsh goes out and gets a big name suddenly our layoff hopes are reborn.

Daryl Morey, Rockets GM, wants youth in return for T-Mac. This guy waited to long to approve the 3-way and Dallas swooped in and stole Haywood AND Butler. Waiting for Morey and Walsh to make a deal will be like watching paint dry.

You do know you're hacking on Walsh after reading and falling for a bogus article of speculation right?

There were substantive discussions on Sunday between the Knicks’ president, Donnie Walsh; Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey; and McGrady’s agent, Arn Tellem, according to the people, who did not want to be identified discussing the negotiations.

The Knicks and the Rockets are trying to make the trade without the assistance of a third team, but the Knicks may not have the pieces necessary. There is also the challenge of matching McGrady’s $23 million salary.

Any deal for McGrady would involve some combination of Knicks with expiring contracts — Al Harrington, Larry Hughes, Darko Milicic or the retired Cuttino Mobley — and a young player, possibly Jordan Hill, the Knicks’ 2009 lottery pick.

I trust Howard Beck. Walsh is interested in McGrady.

I also dont know how I hacked at Walsh when he is known to be slow to make deals.

It would be ridiculous to involve Hill or any of the younger guys for T-Mac. That would be a complete starphuch trade.

If the Knicks could get Buddinger back in the trade I would consider including Hill or Douglas.

Harrington - Hughes - Hill

for

TMac - Kyle Lowry

1 - Clears 2010 cap of Hill's Lotto-Pick salary and is he a key piece anyway?
2 - Gives us a PG to try out for the second half. He's a tough kid who gets to the line... a better Douglas.
3 - If TMac is healthy, he could spark a 2nd half run that would make things interesting again.

Lowry
TMac
Jeffries
Chandler
Lee

Gallo
Nate
Bender
Duhon

That's an explosive team if they're all healthy.

Blah blah blah. TMac hasn't shown anything and giving up our friggin lotto pick for Lowry? Yikes, now we can start wearing our "Help me, I've fallen and I can't get up!" desperation t-shirts, b/c that's just pathetic.

Can we please just have a modicum of patience around here. Hill could turn into a very solid pick for us, but not if we just give him away for Houston's dirty laundry.

I can't wait until Friday, so we can all relax and get down to watching Hill and TD show what they got. All this TMac is the second fiddle crap is getting wearisome. Maybe he will pan out in some way, but we can't really afford to resign him and risk our future to his shenanigans. He already showed he is not a team guy, so why bother?

Its not about Lowry, its about getting two max players in here, and if you don't think Hill should be an obstacle to that... then you trade him for anything, its a means to an end

You didn't say Hill and JJ, you said Al, Hughes and Hill. Totally different opinion if JJ is in there b/c I agree that more flexibility this summer will greatly enhance our Lebron chances.

There's no way they're taking JJ. Hill makes a decent chunk of money too.

if the Rockets would include Budinger i'd rather trade Gallo & ask for HOU's 1st round pick in the deal... Budinger plays a similar style game as Gallo does, but he's more explosive going to the hole... Hill & Budinger played well together at Arizona i think they complement each other nicely... Gallo might be the more talented shooter, but Budinger also has a sweet stroke & w/a mid-1st rounder in this year's draft we can pick up a nice piece like a PG.

if he comes in & averages 30 ppg like he was doing in his prime & stays healthy, i think u have to seriously consider it... but i highly doubt he can play at that level again.

i think enough has been reported on this rumor in the papers, the internet & on TV for there to be something to these rumors... the Knicks are obviously highly interested in acquiring T-Mac... i doubt Walsh would include Hill or Douglas w/o getting back something else tho... that would go completely against his mantra to build for 2010.

Donnie has proven he will not make a trade that screws up his plan for the Knicks....no matter what. He has been right about everything except Cuttino but how did he know Cuttino had a heart condition? Still got his expiring plus Hughes' expiring too as his replacement.

In Donnie we trust...but christ almight throw us a bone!!!

I think TMac will be like most guys coming back from such a long layoff. Slow at 1st, but I think the only thing that sowed him down was being in pain, not that he lost the physical talent or skills he once had. His body needed a break, so this could be a good move to get a top talent who still has something left. You add him to the mix of whatever FA we sign and we could make a huge jump in the standings next year. I have no problem with the idea of a tryout like this.

You guys have got to get into reality mode. Nobody is giving Houston anything very good for TMac, let alone a #8 draft pick rookie player. TMac has had microfracture knee surgery and hasn't really played in 1 1/2 seasons. Houston has sent TMac home and isn't even talking with him.

If Houston wants to make a run for the playoffs, they will take Harrington and Hughes. If not, Houston will either buy TMac out after the trade deadline, or just let him expire so he can't play with another team this year.

I agree with the tryout. But when it comes to resigning as the second fiddle, it would mean losing Lee. ANd I don't want to risk that. If it looks solid, I would be willing, but it would have to be a short deal, like two years with team option in the second year. And TMac would never go for something like that.

He did know. That trade could have been nixed after the physical.

Get your facts straight when you're making excuses for our comatose GM.

Slept through the Nate/Jeffries deal too. I seriously doubt we'll see him do anything this year. Next move for Donnie will be him getting run out of town when he's left with nothing in August.
