But if you read my whole post I made it clear that its time to move on, so I dont know why you cats are getting all emotional about what I said.

Gordon and Lopez get way more touches then Gallo...... Gallo is way ahead of Randolph!!

And the Gallo is Italian .....NY never had an Italian player before.
A city full of Italians..... Shout out to Besonhurst!! Bay 7th and Bathe!!

Hilarious. You proved my point and yet called me a racist in the same breath.

Point to where I called them racist. I said his selection was helped by the vary reasons you're all hyped up about. Next time, dont put words in my mouth, dog.

I'm not Italian dog!!....... Just don't hate on em

Like you seem to

Watch the Jersey Shore and calm your balls!!

Lol...you're just being dumb now. But I'm not trippin' and Im not trying to start a "situation"...

If you guys feel differently, fine. But from where I sit, there is no question that certain things played a role in the evaluation process.

Ok just make sense of what your saying please

What do you feel are those reasons outside of basketball?

You seem pretty clueless on what your saying!!

The Gallo pick is self-explanatory.

With Jennings v Hill, Walsh has already gone on record and said that there was a mistake made in the evaluation process.

Now why was that mistake made?

I believe that a cat like Jennings fit their superficial stereotypes of what they felt a young, urban, black athlete projects. Loud, self-aggrandizing, ext. That made Jennings hard to embrace and they never properly evaluated him, because after a cursory glance they deemed him problematic. Probably said "another Marbury" and quickly moved on.

They showed more interest in Hill because they could more fully embrace his personality and demeanor.

I am fully convinced of this...

I still don't get it. What's wrong with embracing the demeanor and personality of someone if you think he will work better within a team concept, rather then be all about himself and bring the team down. I'm failing to see how this is some kind of evil conspiracy? After having Stephon "All Alone" Marbury drag this team through the mud for years, you can say that getting players you believe to be good teammates a problem?
And further, why is Jennings a "black athlete project" and not Hill and Douglas? Sounds like you're the one with the agenda.

because I feel they made a rash, judgmental decision on someone's character based off of the superficial.

Jennings isnt Marbury. I think if they would have been more open-minded and given Jennings a legitimate chance, he would be in a Knicks uniform.

Cant judge a book by the cover and all a that..

Very well may be. I just think they flubbed it for other reasons. Maybe they didn't scout well enough. Hard to hint that somebody is a racist -- which i believe you're doing -- for picking an afro-american that was highly rated and had plenty of exposure over another afro-american playing over in europe. But that's fine, whatever. You can have your biases against these two white guys if you want.

There are always reasons for choosing one player over another. Why the hell did Isiah pick Balkman again?

But seriously... Why pick Balkman over Marcus Williams? Just because Williams stole a laptop? Was it a "character" thing?

i agree w/seb's assessment of why we passed on Jennings, but his race had nothing to do with it, it was just his personality & maturity issues more likely... the outspokenness & lack of respect for a fellow draft prospect had to raise some red flags as well as the fact that he skipped out on the workout session overseas when Donnie went out there, it sure did for me when evaluating Jennings last year... Jordan Hill was also an insurance policy in case Lee was traded or chose to leave via free agency last year or after this season... MDA likes high character guys who don't need to be babysitted or coddled, he's got no tolerance for any straw that will stir the drink.

why we chose Gallo is obviously because MDA & Walsh were familiar w/his talent & his character makeup & felt they were taking the right guy for the system & for this franchise... i don't think anyone can complain about his selection looking back now & to be fair sebstar hasn't made a single disparaging remark about either Gallo or Hill on this thread, he's just pointing out there were other factors than just simply basketball ability that determined Walsh's picks & he's right... personality & character plays a big role in why teams choose certain guys sometimes.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
