well, he hasnt had any major injury yet, and his resume suggests he isnt injury-prone. But I see your point. Guess it's only a matter of time if he keeps playing 40 minutes a game on Team

With or without Lee we need a C a PG and a more consistent balanced bench. They brought in Darko--did not work--well I dont see an answer by subtracting Lee????

I agree that we desperately need a PG. It's the #1 priority for this team, especially given as the coach. I also don't want Lee gone just to get him out. I would be happy to have him back....at the right price. This will be the problem I think. For me the right price is something under about 8.5 million per. I'm sure Lee, and many fans, would want significantly more. Hopefully Walsh stays wise on this, and makes a nice deal.

I also believe that if the going sentiment around the league is to value Lee higher than that, then we should absolutely trade or sign and trade him for picks, young talent, etc., for an overpaying buyer.

If you put Andrew Bynum next to Lee and we had a good PG and more consistent bench players--how would we do--the problem is we dont have C a PG and a consistent bench. MDA does not believe in a 5--so I don't kmow what to say but I dont believe Lee is the problems with he Knicks in anyway. Even if Zach Randolph was here at C we'd be better---Jefferies and Gallinari are not post players.

The logic of "Player A is bad at THIS" so "We need to put Player B who is good at THIS next to him." and "now we win games".

Is very flawed logic.

No thanks to that. I'd prefer a complete player.

Putting a defender next to a player who isn't a defender doesn't win you games. It gives you Jared Jeffries next to David Lee. It's a very flawed logic. "If only we got a player that can do what our own player can't then we'll win games!".

FALSE.

Now you have two flawed players.

THANK YOU!!! lets get arenas who plays no d cuz he can score (with volume of shots). then we get a guy to cover for his d, and we need a guy to cover for that guys weakness, etc... having a team of flawed guys on the court means if they have 1 guy with a bad night, its likely to be a baaaad....

GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

While I kinda agree with the principle in regard to determining a player's value when it comes to team structure it tends to work.

Bowen next to Parker in SA.
Bell next to Nash in PHX
Dampier next to Nowitzki in Dallas
Marion next to Amare in PHX
Bynum next to Gasol in LA
Rashard next to Dwight in Orlando

Knicks ain't letting Lee walk unless they know Lee wants close to what someone like Bosh wants and they sign Bosh instead.

The Knicks can still offer Lee the most money, so it could also be a sign-and-trade kind of thing.

Plus, I don't think we go into next year with Duhon starting.

Give us a real PG and we will be better automatically.

When Duhon played well we usually win or at least play a lot better.

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

If I'm Donnie Walsh - as much as he might like David Lee, I would find it very hard to reward a player on this losing team with a $10M a year contract extension. If I'm Walsh, I would allow David Lee and his agent to go shopping and see what his market value will be. I still highly doubt a team will offer him $12M or more. If I'm Walsh, I go into the summer thinking $8M. Maybe drive up that price to $10M if Lee meets certain incentives. And hey, we are under the cap - REMEMBER THAT! If Lee signs with another team, there will be plenty of PFs available to replace him with. Like Carlos Boozer.

dump move. Tons of good and great players started on losing teams. CWebb turned the Kings franchise around and he was a perrenial loser. Rip Hamilton and Billups played on bad teams before winning in Det. We could do this all day. Lee is a very good player and should be kept. 6 years $70mm starting at $10mm per is a good deal for us.
