League sources confirmed that the Knicks are seeking a first-round pick several years down the road, with the hope being that by the time that pick comes due, the Celtics will no longer be among the NBA's elite.

Right now the word is house and walker for nate is almost a done deal. Who knows tho. This deal however makes the most sense for the knicks because house is actually a player that can really help new york now and as a cheap resign in the future. I don't see the point of tony allen, he does nothing different. House is a spark like nate, less talented, but a better shooter making him a better fit in the future.

They better have a first round pick coming back, otherwise it's a horrible trade.

Bill Walker is a BEAST.

House and Walker for Nate a no go in Tradechecker appears to be around $400,000 light in Boston's outgoing salary.

The same reason why someone wanted Zack Randolph, Crawford, and others who left the Knicks. I'm a die hard Knicks fan but I hope Nate does leave and go to a better team. We are always so quick to throw someone under the bus. Nate will grow in this game and I hope he goes someplace where he is appreciated because I hate to say it but next October we will be sitting without Lee or Nate and no Lebron James.

I agree about Nate being under-appreciated. Its a joke how much shyt he takes around here. I too hope he goes to Boston and rips it up and grabs a chip.

But Jamal and Zach had to go. Individually, guys like Nate, Marbury, Jamal, Zach, ext... were all talented but as a collective they were a mess. It was a bloated roster and we desperately needed cap flexibility and a fresh start. We're playing better than we were with those guys and we have a ton of maneuverability to grab an impact player or two.

We're good. No need for pessimism, but I feel you on Nate. Obviously. The fact that we always ridicule our players doesnt help trade value. We should have gotten more for Randolph. Duke is absolutely killing it in Memphis.

Nate on an established team COULD fall in line to his role and be a great cheerleader and offensive boast. He could learn from veteran leadership that we just don't have here at this time.

ITs like the dog whisperer. PUt him in a pack and he'll pick up the proper behavior.

Well, said veteran leadership includes Kevin Garnett, who, in all honesty, really isn't all there.

Should this trade go down - it'll be interested how and if he and Doc can get along.

Why would we trade Nate to the freaking Celtics, for expiring contracts, without giving them Curry or JJ. Why would we help make the Celtics younger, better, more athletic, ect...

This would be dumb and assinine and I would really start questioning DWs GMing if he made a move like that.

Pierce? Ray-ray? Rondo?

Garnett may be hurt and not playing 100% of the time, but he is there.

Don't worry, apparently the offer never happened.

Earlier today, a league source close to both sides of the situation shot down the rumors that the Celtics have renewed talks with the Knicks concerning their disgruntled veteran guard.

“Don’t waste your time,” said the source. “The Knicks are looking for quite a bit for him.”

Robinson’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, denied any knowledge of renewed discussions. “If anyone would know, I think it would be me,” he said.

If N8 goes to Boston, we should be getting back at least a first rounder in the trade. Otherwise we are wasting our time. Nate can help us get into the playoffs (i.e., when other guys are shooting poorly, N8 can single-handedly keep us in or even WIN games himself). Why on earth would we give that up for a lesser player like House? Either we need a pick or we need to move one of our two bad deals.

Otherwise, keep Nate to help us get to the playoffs. The Knicks shouldn't make move that benefit other teams unless there's something SOLID in it for our team (like a pick or cap relief).

Thanks for the update and links. No team is going to overpay for Robinson when he is a UFA this summer. A young guy and a pick would more than suffice.

Generally speaking that is true but the ONLY two teams that migh want him now are the Celts and the Lakers. Both know they can win it all and both may see him being a valuable asset that gets them there. Especially for thr celtics where age/injuries are weighing heavily on them waiting for next year may not be agreat decision.

What exactly is "quite a bit"? The deal in question had us getting back nothing but scrubs, with the only caveat being that they at least take on JJ's salary. Given that they are not going to be in the free agent hunt this offseason, thats more than fair since they are getting the better talent by far.

Getting tired of these GM's looking to fleece the Knicks all the time. If they dont want to play ball, then we can just continue to do our thing. We dont need to make a trade at all...

I mean, Nate is the most unprofessional, immature basketball player on planet earth --- no scratch that --- of all time! He has no redeeming qualities and as a matter of fact shouldnt be allowed to even walk the streets amongst the good people of this nation.

This must be a bogus rumor!

Anyway, looks like the Celtics will grab a young, dynamic guard on the cheap. Walsh better demand they take JJ with them. What the hell are we going to do with a Tony Allen, Williams, and a pick in the high 20s?

remember all the posters saying Nate had no trade value... seems like there's teams out there interested in trading for him.

While no deal is imminent between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks regarding Nate Robinson, multiple league sources confirmed the C's are "very high" on the diminutive guard.

------------------------------

While the Lakers have been mentioned as a possible Western Conference partner for the Knicks, Memphis, Houston and Oklahoma City are among the teams that have expressed some interest in acquiring the 5-foot-9 guard.

To have the Celts take JJ and Nate, you'd have to do something like

JJ-Nate-Landry
for
Scalabrine-House-Allen-Daniels

I don't know if the Celts make that deal regardless of the salaries

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Nate, JJ for Scalabrine, House and Allen works too.
I was on a C's fan site and some are already clamoring for Nate after they lost to the Pistons. They have no energy off the bench, JJ and Nate can provide that (Hoping Ainge believes it too).
