League sources confirmed that the Knicks are seeking a first-round pick several years down the road, with the hope being that by the time that pick comes due, the Celtics will no longer be among the NBA's elite. http://www.csnne.com/pages/landing/?blockID=161166&feedID=3346 |

Don't worry, apparently the offer never happened. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/celtics/view.bg?articleid=1227005&position=1 Earlier today, a league source close to both sides of the situation shot down the rumors that the Celtics have renewed talks with the Knicks concerning their disgruntled veteran guard. Robinson’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, denied any knowledge of renewed discussions. “If anyone would know, I think it would be me,” he said. |

A young guy and a pick would more than suffice. NY Knicks - Retirement home for players and GMs

Why would we help make the Celtics younger, better, more athletic, ect... Generally speaking that is true but the ONLY two teams that migh want him now are the Celts and the Lakers. Both know they can win it all and both may see him being a valuable asset that gets them there. Especially for thr celtics where age/injuries are weighing heavily on them waiting for next year may not be agreat decision. Why would we help make the Celtics younger, better, more athletic, ect... What exactly is "quite a bit"? The deal in question had us getting back nothing but scrubs, with the only caveat being that they at least take on JJ's salary. Given that they are not going to be in the free agent hunt this offseason, thats more than fair since they are getting the better talent by far. Getting tired of these GM's looking to fleece the Knicks all the time. If they dont want to play ball, then we can just continue to do our thing. We dont need to make a trade at all... My saliva and spit can split thread into fiber and bits/ So trust me I'm as live as it gets.
