Dirk and Wade are the only max free agents that can lead a team to the playoffs aside from Lebron.

Wade is already King of Miami.

Lebron may come to NY to be King of New York tho... where Bosh ends up is anyone's guess... i think there's a good chance he ends up in Miami too.

I agree. Wade is not leaving, and he is probably going to make a solid pitch to Bosh to come join him. A team of Chalmers, Wade, Beasley, Bosh, and O'Neal would be pretty solid. I think Miami is going to be our biggest obstacle to signing Bosh, if that is the direction Walsh wants to go in.

More importantly what will we talk about after 2010 is done?

I can only imagine how crazy this board gets after the Finals

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Why is no one talking about the Knicks going after Dirk?

We went from arguing about if he's worth keeping, to now watching him nearly price himself out of our market. Hopefully it doesn't happen because i want him back over Bosh and Amare for a few million less. He's almost as good and more durable. He's a 20-10 player alongside lebron, no question about it. He's the closest thing to our second max FA we covet.

how do u figure adding a guy who puts up almost 30 ppg is gonna result in D Lee's scoring averages to go up too? i don't get that type of reasoning... is this team all of a sudden gonna start averaging 120 points every night? or are those 2 guys going to be the sole focus of this offense & everyone else's scoring averages will go down? don't assume Lee's scoring will go up if Lebron comes here... if anything it might take a slight dip... the only thing we need to be concerned about is the wins stats going up.

if we ended up w/Lebron & Amare i'd be more than happy w/that too... imagine the old Knicks-Heat rivalry being revitalized again w/Lebron & Amare in NY & Wade & Bosh in Miami? that would make for some awesome basketball in the coming years.

Here's how we free up the cap space to go after max FA # 2:

http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/12/27/if-curry-wants-out-knicks-can-make-it-happen/

It would be like what Elton brand and Baron Davis worked out only

a) Brand doesn't stab Davis in the back and sign with Philly AFTER the Baron commits to LAC.
b) Replace those two players with players that have yet to reach or have just passed their peaks

Curry is not leaving $11.3 million on the table just to get out of NY... he's not even gonna give back half his salary next year on a buyout either... forget it, it's not happening... the most we can hope for is $1-2 mil less on a buyout agreement for next year's contract so he can sign on w/another team at veteran's minimum dollars... that's how Marbury weaseled his way out of NY & Curry is gonna do the same, u can bank on it.

I'm down to talk about it. What's your opinion of a Lee-Dirk frontcourt?
