Pres, i agree w/ur general argument that unprofessional behavior that Nate displays can be a real negative influence on your co-workers... that's why it worries me that we have our young guys learning from guys like him... i really think we need to look to trade Nate, but we gotta get back a usable asset in the process cuz he can still be a very productive player for any team... banishing him to the bench is not helping his trade value at all, which is a concern for me right now... i really wish we'd traded him before the trade deadline last year

I hope D'Antoni knows what he's doing with this guy. Is this temporary? And that Walsh is on the same page. I think McK alluded to Starbury in Celtic green essentially on our dime, and I don't want to see a waste of money or time like that again.

It's temporary if Nate shapes up, it's permanent if he does not.

You saw Larry Hughes handle his benching very well and coming back to contribute. There was no drama with him. If Nate can do this, it is ok.

good point on Hughes, but i don't like what i'm hearing from Nate in his postgame interviews... he still doesn't seem to get the fact that he's doing something wrong... he's being very politically correct but he still maintains he's gonna go right back to doing what he's been doing when he gets a chance to play again... this doesn't speak to me as a guy who realizes he needs to change something about how he's conducting himself during & after games & in practice... i don't think he's ever gonna change his ways, this is just who he is.

I agree. Personally, I don't think he will turn it around, at least not this year, and not with this team. So it will be permanent. It's a shame, really, but that's just what it is. 3 of last 4 and he's hardly played. No complaints here.

That's what I've been trying to say. Nate is what he is and the kids are crazy about him. Now D'Atoni is in a spot. If he plays Nate and Nate does well you better believe that he ain't coming back to New York. You can say so what. You must ask youself this. How many players that D'Antoni is playing on a constant basis is coming back. Let's see, Hughes? no Harrington? no Lee? definatly no, A superstar player Like Lebron or Kobe would know how to handle N8. N8 got the message from his agent to be good and bite your time. And we won't get nothing for him. Where ever he goes I wish him well.

Hughes actually might be resigned if he were willing to take $7 million or so for 3-4 years. Who do we have at SG that is better? Honestly, I think the 2010 dream of Lebron never materializes and we resign Lee and Hughes and let Harrington, Nate, and Duhon walk.

We really should trade for Sessions or Rubio with Nate as the bait. Minny needs scoring, and the one thing nate is good at is scoring the ball.

If Nate is soooooo horrible, then why sign him back ? Better yet, why not cut him now because he is worthless to any NBA team. Thats the message UK posters are saying. Cut him now and watch him go to winning team and be a HUGE contributor in the 6th man role.
Nate is better then anyone on the Lakers bench not named Odom or the Magic bench, Cavs, Celtics, Suns, Utah, Blazers.......... Well, you get the point.

he's not better than a single player in the league if he keeps acting like this. you think the magic/suns/cavs/celtics/jazz are going to tolerate goofing around and celebrating to the crowd while their team is losing? he’ll marburyize himself out of the league in 2 seconds.

This is going to sound totally stupid but I'm going to say it anyway. Nate, if you are listening, STOP EATING SO MUCH FCKING CANDY. Layoff the sugar...and all the food dyes and other chemicals aren't helping either.

1.) I can tell not many on here have coached before. First of all the information we are receiving on the benching is 2nd hand. None of us have any idea why he is being benched. For all we know he is breaking plays, ignoring defensive directives, clowning around or just being beaten out at the position. None of us know. And yet we pass judgement based on how we feel about D'Antoni or Nate. All I know is that if a guy of Nate's ability is being benched I can guarantee you that there is a good reason for it. I can also guarantee you that it has been communicated to him several times.

2.) During Nate's years we have won 23, 33, 23 and 32 games. Add on top of that we are what? 0-9 when he plays more then 19 minutes this year(or whatever that stat was). Now someone please explain to me why Nate should be guaranteed a spot in the rotation and why it is a snub when he loses his spot. What has he done to guarantee himself minutes. No one on this roster should be guaranteed a rotation spot. They all have to earn it. And if you don't earn it, even for a second, then you sit.

3.) The Marbury era is over. The clowning is over. The off the court nonsense is over. The emphasis is being placed on basketball now. If you can't do that, then you don't play. Again we have won 23, 33, 23 and 32 games. WE DO NOT NEED ANYONE ON THIS ROSTER.

4.) Earn your minutes and shut up. What has Nate done to earn his spot?

5.) Can't believe how many sissies there are on this site.

do u think Nate's gonna change his ways Bip? just curious cuz i don't think he will.

IMO we're much better served trading him for an asset now than continuing w/this benching & devaluing him even more. u can already tell from his comments that Nate doesn't think he did anything to deserve this benching, so there's no message to be taught to him by going this route... if u wanna send a message to the rest of the team then trading him would be a better play than a prolonged benching, don't u think?

this is bull****!

0-9 when Nate plays 19 minutes or more...wtf kind've measure is that!?!

how about the record of the guy starting point and playing 38 minutes? how many times has Nate had to expend his energy in them 19 minutes or more getting NY back in a game cuz the putz in front of him sux total donkey!

full steam ahead on the its Nate's fault has been stealing money train

You can't seem to get over this "it's all Nate's fault" mentality. It isn't his fault. It isn't his fault by a long shot. Very few are interpreting it that way. But the team is 0-9 with him getting major minutes so what that says is that he has not earned the right to be angry that he isn't getting minutes.
