Cheaper options that are going to come into their own. Cant spend 8mm on a Randy Foye or a Felton[who I dont like anyway] spend 3- 3.5mm

Randy Foye will not receive $8mil. Where are you from?

i like Shannon Browne but he's strictly a SG... wouldn't mind bringing him in anyway regardless of who we pick up to play the PG but he'd have to come real cheap... & Foye is not gonna cost no $8 mil per... he's got a $4.8 mil qualifying offer next year... if we offer him a little above that i doubt very much the Wizards would match when they have Arenas, Stevenson & Nick Young under contract for next season.

Love the idea of acquiring Brown and Watson. I agree that both have good promise that won't be fully realized in their current situations. No problem at all going after these two when the time comes. Brown's very strong and a supreme athlete. Much better all-around player than when he first came in the league. Can shoot it pretty well now and he plays some nice D. I've caught a few Laker games on the NBA League Pass - this guy's entire game looks like it's really improved a ton, top to bottom. He's become a very efficent 2-guard in the mins. he does get...And Watson's quick as hell and a very good offensive player for a 1. I think this guy could be one hell of a PG in this league if given more reponsibility. Every damn time I see this kid play where Nellie give him a little bit of a run he impresses me..Hard to say definatively that they'd be starters here next year (hopefully we could add even more backcourt talent than these two somehow, but both certainly have the talent to start in this league)..You figure at the very least they'd be very solid rotation players and would go a long way in suring up our backcourt and improving our talent base. For the type of money Briggs mentioned, go get them both. No-brainer..Agree totally that these are the type of guys we should be looking at - guys at the right price that could really be good. Excellent call. I'm totally in favor of taking chances on low risk/high reward young talent like this. If it were up to me, I'd be building a whole team of guys like this right now..

A little further -- Brown played with LeBron in Cleveland (he knows what this guy's capable of - hopefully they had a good rapport when Brown was still with the Cavs, I know Brown is very gracious when talking about James from some things I've read) and I think Brown and CJ Watson both played together for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the D-League a couple of years back...Two nice little factors when thinking about building some future chemistry. These guys know each other..LBJ knows Brown and I'm sure he's well aware of the progress he's made since leaving the Cavs and likewise with Watson - James knows this guy's a good player that's just buried out there in the Bay area. I honestly think Watson might be an even better talent than Mo Williams, LBJ's current PG..Just sayin'..

Good call on Foye too TMS. Still has nice upside and he can shoot & score (although his shooting % has been a little low for his career which scares me a little bit). This guy was a very good player for 'Nova though. I still remember that backcourt they had of Foye & Kyle Lowry and how potent it was...Thing is Washington just traded for him and gave up on the 5th pick in the draft in order to get him -- I know they got Mike Miller in that trade too, but Foye was really the centerpiece in that deal for the Wizards. Hard seeing how they give up on the 5th pick in the draft only to let Foye walk next summer..Then again, he's started only 2 games out of 16 so far this season for Washington and his numbers are down across the board. Haven't seen enough of the Wizards so far to really comment on how Foye's fitting in over there. Anyone been watchin' Foye a lot this season that has a better take? TMS?

Actually it looks like Brown started playing for the Vipers a few days after Watson got called up to the Warriors in January '08. My bad..Still like the potential of both guys though...

I WANT RUBIO -- everything else is waste. I do like Felton though.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

to be honest i haven't caught many Wizards games this year... but just looking at the minutes played by their rotation of G's, i'm assuming at least 2 of Randy Foye, Nick Young, Javaris Crittenton & DeShawn Stevenson don't figure into their longterm future plans, & both Crittenton & Foye are potential FA's after this season... u know Arenas isn't going anywhere, so where does Foye really fit into their plans? both Young & Stevenson are under contract for next season... unless they're amassing young assets to try & swing a trade this season i don't see them paying to keep Foye in WAS... i could be wrong but that's just my best guess... i'd love to steal Crittenton away on the cheap this offseason, the kid's only 21 still & i think he's got some nice skills & can grow into a nice player... plus he's got nice size at the PG position at 6'5" 200 lbs.

Why are we discussing garbage and mediocre players?

Retaining Duhon?

Foye, Felton, Farmer?

To do what? Continue the tradition of SUCKTITUTDE from the Knicks' PG position?

TMS: Crittenton? Really?

My god have we sucked so bad for so long that crap players are viewed as solutions to our problems? LOL?

Of those three, I like Sergio and Lowry. They both have the ability to find the open player and have reasonable jump shots. They're both young and have some upside. I'm not too excited about most of the pg's who will be available, but I think those two would be assets to our team.

I think what will happen is we will go for the big names. Maybe we score LeBron, Bosh, and another all-star 75% max player (all by summer of 2011). And then? Then we look for our Derek Fisher, Ron Harper, Rajon Rondo type player. I don't think there is a max PG to be had so I doubt we look for it...but rather try to put together a team of 2-max-FAs and 1-big-time-AllStar - and then round out the roster after that including the PG.

dude, that's the entire point of this thread... there aren't that many PG options available in free agency... i'm just picking out the ones i'd be willing to target... if we can target a better PG via trade, great... feel free to offer some suggestions.

Crittenton has talent... he hasn't yet put up great numbers but he's still a 21 yo kid & hasn't really gotten his chance to take over a team as a fulltime starter over any extended period of time... u don't find guys w/his size at the PG everyday... in 10 career games as a starter he's shot an impressive 56% from the floor... his 9 / 3 / 4 #'s weren't Earthshattering but u gotta keep in mind his age... give this kid a full 30 mpg run over a full season & i think he will put up some solid stats for a kid as young as he is, & he'll only get better... on a ~3 year ~$3 million dollar deal he'd be a worthwhile investment.

I like Felton and Lowery as PG's. Foye I like. More a a Boobie Gibson type of PG or a SG. I don't think Lowery would fit here anymore though-though I could be wrong. He can shoot the three and pass but I have never seen hum direct a running attack.

Felton OTOH, has directed that fast attack. Lowery is a better defender though.

Foye belongs on a winning team with strong leadership like the Spurs or Lakers.
