Regardless of the White House tells you things are not getting better, the economy is not recovering, jobs aren't being created and teams are not going to have the money to spend and throw crazy contracts out there. So the knicks can fill in players that serve roles (Lorwy types). Most NBA teams are in serious trouble. Boston, Washington, Orlando, Charlotte, Cleveland, Toronto don't have the money to spend next season.

So if I'm Lebron I look at other teams in the conference Boston, ATL, Magic those are the teams you have to worry about. Boston you cross them off the list at seasons end. You can bet that Ellis and James will ensure that Gallo is never doubled for the rest of his career and we have a young maturing team.

Once you do that you can use the expiring Curry and JJ contracts to take on some pricey role players a team might no longer be able to afford. Ok4, Elton Brand, Diaw, Gerald Wallace, Bogut... who knows who needs to dump salary

brand, he locked up for many year now. no good.

thats the whole point. Brand's contract is long and expensive. AFTER Knicks use their cap space they should look to find teams dumping salary and use JJ/Curry's expiring contracts to get someone like that. There is no way of telling who is or will be available

mr. lee also understands the money in the nba is guaranteed. he also understands freaky things happen to knees and backs of professional athletes that end careers short and noone is exempt from that happening to them and now he is being asked to play way out of position giving up not only height but 20-30lbs a night for the last 1 1/4 seasons -injury risk be damned. the bridge in lee's mind has likely already been burned.

Although Brand is injury prone, he might still be useful as second fiddle.

Chemistry hasn't been considered in the decision making of this team in over a decade, it reigned during all of Isiah's era. Brand would be more useful than Gallo, for now or the next 2 years because he bring more toughness and is a true big man, features that are successful in the playoffs. I want Gallo to get his, and he can if Brand were on this team with LBJ or Wade. Once Brand is officially done, Gallo can get his chance in that supporting role.

that absolutely cannot be true. he's 31, hasn't played in 2 full seasons before this...where is the argument? plus he's locked in FOREVER at huge money..no?? this has isiah all over it i think.

orange, u have a point there... just looked up Brand's diminishing production over the past 3 years... i may have to change my mind on this one.

ask sixer fans about brand... the ones i know hate brand, think hes the worst FA ever... par for the course for filthy fans though. as an outside observer of the sixers, they seem better with brand out than in.

plus picking him up feels like layden+mcdyess all over again. they pick him up and he gets hurt right away.
