and what about getting others involved? Duhon still does it much better than Douglas and for Hughes to a lesser extent.
Sorry Martin...Douglas has a different style. He makes the other team defend the perimeter and that opens up the inside game. Perhaps D'Antoni and Douglas can find a blend but apparently D'A doesn't trust him yet. He still considers himself a rookie. My take is he scored 23 the other game I'm coach I say "He jsut earned his stripes...he doesn't fetch for you vets anymore" He has to have a better basis to take on a leadership role. It is a complicated dynamic. Some of it must come from the player some from coach ...but in the end he has to have teammates willing to follow him.
wasn't trying to fault Douglas, just point it out. I am interested to see how Toney progresses as a PG over the years.
With 6 assists in 45 minutes the other day...it ain't that. D'A was a pg right? He wants Toney's head on a certain way....or they haven't really blended on defense...I dunno maybe it's all about Lee works better with Duhon...and as long as Lee is the lead threat to score and rebound. Curry changes the flavor too. So who knows. I know you were sayin' you thought Duhon a better all around at this point. It's not all about Duhon though is my thought.
Funny thing is when the team got down by like 20 every time seemed Toney was out there working and every time he sparks some life in them. Could be the other side let up. (shrugs) he is too good to warm the bench in this bunch though.
Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans
"The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."
