Guess what? I would never do the shady crap that Dolan did to Spree in the first place. If I were running a team, my players would be punking other teams and winning games. Not only should a team be well-balanced skillwise to be efficient on the court, but have the nuts to handle ruckus if anyone brings it- especially in our house.

Perhaps the Knicks can take a page from the Rucker style to get some exciting, athletic, ballsy players. Thanks for bringing that one up.

The only one in the organization calling for a strong sanction, however, was assistant coach Brendan Malone. "He (Latrell Sprewell) should be suspended," Malone said. "He used body language, verbal language, to embarrass an owner. Then he came over and cursed out Lon Kruger, who was just trying to be a mediator. He should be suspended for his behavior, because it cast a negative image on the league." Newark Star-Ledger

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

While Sprewell was proud of the way he dressed down Dolan and Kruger, who became a target when he told Sprewell late in the game after another outburst at Dolan to "just play," many of the Knicks players said they thought Sprewell validated Dolan's claims about his character.

"I do worry about our image," Dikembe Mutombo said yesterday. "There's a lot of us who are trying to do good out there and portray basketball players in a different way. At the same time, we still have bad apples out there that portray us in different ways."

Charlie Ward suggested that Sprewell had forgotten it was the Knicks organization that enabled him to resurrect his career after his run-in with Carlesimo had made him a pariah.

"Basically, it showed a lack of gratitude," Ward said. "He was very ungrateful for what the Knicks organization did for him when he was going through a tough time. It's just embarrassing."

first off, happy holidays to everyone. second, in the nba, everyone loves trash talking. i am sure back in the day we all cheered when starks headbutted miller and gave the middle finger to nba crowds. are those examples of decent behavior? nevertheless we loved starks attitude and condoned it. now we have spree who did pretty much the same thing. we all knew he was going to go off. he did the same thing in golden state. was he a little overboard? maybe. but calling him a jerk and such things becuase he cursed out an owner we do not like anyway is ridiculous. especially when we loved it ten years ago. now that we are the recipients of such behavior it is wrong. i am more upset with our players not giving it back. they do not have to actually attack him but someone should have stepped up and went off scoring wise. instead what did houston and van horn do in the final quarter? nothing much. some people thought that spree, becuase of the last game, was'nt going to do anything. they were thinking with hope, not with their brain. if you have seen spree play throughout the years you knew what was going to happen. so please do not get upset or act shocked.

Spree was a dumbass low life piece of garbage long before tuesday nite.

When you get paid 12mil, its not playground anymore. Its a privilege and damm good paying job to be in the NBA.

In a way, he confirmed Dolans comment that his charactor sucks. Dolan should not have said it, but two wrongs don't make a right.

I thought Spree handled the trade and comments very well and it appeared to be taking the higher road. I was dissapointed in him, and our team the other nite.

He did us a favor in a way, and if the lesson is used constructive then it serves a purpose.

Latrell Sprewell doesn't just want to face James Dolan again. Now, he's ready to take on the entire Knicks team.
Sprewell, fined $25,000 by the league for using profanity during Tuesday's win over the Knicks, said yesterday he is upset with several former teammates who immediately after the game criticized his behavior. He wouldn't name names.

"The funny thing is, I played with the Knicks for five years, they never complained when it was me doing it to another team," Sprewell told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "Now they're receiving it, and it's the worst thing since whatever."

Allan Houston said after the game that Sprewell, who scored 31 points, should have let his performance speak for itself. Dikembe Mutombo and Charlie Ward also took exception to Sprewell's use of profanity.

The Knicks and Wolves don't play again this season but Sprewell is already looking forward to a rematch: "I'd rather play them again next week, tomorrow, whenever. Me personally. Now that I know a couple players had something to say, I'll be talking trash to them when I see them."

Sprewell added that he doesn't regret cursing repeatedly at Dolan, who was seated along the baseline with his wife. Dolan attends most home games for both the Knicks and Rangers.

"He should have stayed home for that one," Sprewell said.

"I think the stuff he does pretty much speaks for itself. He hasn't been to a game and all of a sudden he wants to show up. He talks about my character. I never said a thing about him. I'm coming back and he announces Isiah (Thomas) is coming. He tells the players they better win. Stuff like that. You've done all that talking, now I get a chance to talk."

But all that talking has gotten Sprewell in trouble again with the NBA. Asked early yesterday if he was anticipating a fine, Sprewell said: "I'm sure they're going to fine me. It's nothing new. I'm so used to fines. They think that bothers me."

I see the # you're reppin, son. That's why I spelled ya name NYH8 after you were siding with the haters about Spree.

Now, the important thing is what Isaiah will do to fix this roster. He's about to make a move within the next week IMO.

"He should have stayed home for that one," Sprewell said.

Wow, Dolan should be ducking Spree in his own house? Furthermore, most places of work provide security escort for that kind of behavior with suspension to follow.

Spree has a point. If his behavior was okay when he was a Knick, it's okay now. Of course it feels different when you're on the other side.

When we traded for spree we overlooked the fact that he choked his coach and caused a serious auto accident with his reckless driving. We accepted his occasional antics, his lateness, etc. He may have been a thug, but he was our thug. And he's a great baller who leaves it all out on the floor.

Now Spree is no longer a Knick. To him, the Knicks are the enemy. As fans it should be ok to treat him as an enemy. But there's no point in whining about his lack of class. He never had any.

Good post, Knickgeek.

Hopefully we will get more players with the fire LayDown and Dolan (before Tuesday) has traded off the team and refused to replenish.
