How about the whole team sucks including the coaching staff. How can u possible point the finger at one individual being the most responsible. Aside from what you guys have already pointed out about AL and Lee, nate looks lost, douglas plays solid d and has found his stroke, but as a pg/sg he makes no one better, the rest are way to inconsistent which means he's half good and half not good.

the topic is who's disappointed u the most, not who's the most responsible for this crappy start to the season.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

has he been monitoring the lockerroom at least?

Pretty gaudy +/- number that you guys are forgetting! Over +48 when on the court, I think. MDA should be putting him out there 42 MPG. We would be about 8-2.

Coaching is easy when you make proper use of statistics.

Disappointment with Lee has to do with the continued evolution of his offensive skills, and his seeming neglect of his defensive aggressiveness and continued indifference to building up his upper body. He is playing out of position, be he has had trouble with PFs also.

Duhon seems to be in some kind of a stupor out there. Hopefully he can regain his edge a bit and provide us with some semblance of what he gave us last year.

Harrington seems unable to take on the responsibility he himself took on his shoulders. He should be allowed 2 3pt shots, and if he misses them, he should not be allowed to shoot one again that night. He goes to the line more this year, but his outside shooting has been terrible.

I give Chandler a break because of the injury. He is not the same player this season as he was last season, and I don't think it has anything to do with where his head is at.

There is much to be disappointed about, but I agree with the OP. Lee has been garbage.
Despite his numbers Lee has been a loser for this team. A losing player. Period. Does not create wins. Does not play winning basketball.
Those of you that want to always cite how good his double-doubles or rebounding numbers are missing the point. Wins are what's important.
His otherworldly defensive shortcomings far outweigh his offensive contributions. He gets lit up by literally anyone who wants to give it a go: bigger, smaller, slower, faster. It's sickening.
Not to mention that he can't even knock down that 18 footer with regularity.
I've been squirming watching this guy on our team for that last 2 seasons. Even more so as he was praised by many as our best player. Yikes.
Please, please, please get rid of him! For anything!

Because this is only his 2nd year. You need to give a coach and his system at least 3 years. No D Lee has been showing us his defensive abilities for a long time and it has not improved.

You need to give the coach good players as well before thinking about tossing him aside. The need for some fans to rip Walsh and Mike D because we stink this year is just disgraceful. There is a plan in place. It's so simple to understand it. Yet the people seeing red over starting 1-9 you have to start to question their understanding of the situation - or refusal to do so actually.

1) Tear down roster
Result short term: TEAM WILL SUCK
2) Build new team (this starts next summer)
3) Add to new team (this continues into the 2011 summer
4) COMPETE WITH THE TOP TEAMS (this begins with the 2011-2012 season)

What is so hard to understand I will never know.

But, yeah, let's fire Walsh, fire Mike, re-hire Isiah, trade back for Zach, Craw, re-sign Marbury and Q and Jerome, etc. Then maybe some people will be happy again.

LOL.

As to disappointments?

Lee has reached his ceiling as a player. I hinted at this last year when I noted he was getting physically slower and more grounded. This will continue. It has also been discussed at length that he is very one dimensional and that his double doubles are fools gold tricking people into forgetting that he gives up double doubles on the other end.

He has to go.

Nate? Nate has been Nate and that means adios.

Harrington? Who cares. Don Nelson was right "He thinks he's a superstar. He's not." Good riddance.

Chandler? This guy has also peaked as a player. Ship him out to get rid of Jeffries or Curry.

Douglas and Gallo have impressed.

Hill has disappointed (mostly in attitude/demeanor) but it's still early for him as well.

The four players I'd accept on the team next year:

Somewhat: Chandler
Willing to give some time: Hill
Absolutely want back: Douglas, Gallo

Everyone else can go to hell.

I take it that your feelings on this subject are rather passionate.

"I don't know how many time I seem Lee just let someone just drive past him with out even lifting a hand."

"D'Antoni allows this to happen. Maybe these players are angry because The Knicks are throwing this season away."

2 things:
1.) Number one: Shouldn't David Lee be responsible for his own actions? Shouldn't David Lee want to stop the player so that he can win the game for himself?

2.) Who cares if the players are angry. This is not an excuse for not playing hard. This is the exact same thing we did under LB and it is haunting us still. You cannot excuse players for not playing hard simply because they don't like their situation, or they don't like the coach. I don't want guys on my team that are thinking about the coach or the GM or their contracts while they are playing. I want guys that are only thinking about winning. Why would any fan want anything different? Do you expect to win with players like this?

I'm with Fish, I'm most disappointed in Lee. Guys like Duhon and Chandler and Harrington are playing poorly, but for me Lee really bugs me. Here is a guy demanding 10-12 million dollars a year that shows no leadership qualities, no defense and only seems to be concerned with how many times he gets a double double. His post game interviews speak to the infection I was talking about during the LB years. During those years over and over again we listened to Marbs complain about things we weren't doing, we heard Craw talk about all the things that we need to start doing consistently. Yet never did they actually take the lead and demand that the team follow them. Craw would talk a great game about improving his defense, but never once did he step up his defensive game. Marbs made a career of these things. We've had several vets since then do the same thing. Now the infection has spread to lee and some others. I just hope we can get these guys off the roster before it spreads to Gallo and Chandler(it it hasn't already) and the rookies.

Chandler has to be the biggest bust this season. The guy had made Harrington look like a high IQ ball player. Chandler's passing has been terrible, his shooting atrocious and he doesn't even recognize when he has a midget on his that could be posted up.

Some of the shots this guy tosses up make Jamal Crawford look good. His defense has suffered as well.

Many may think Duhon is the biggest bust but, its now obviously that early last season he was uber-overachieving and had only since returned to form. Even feces has a form you know :)

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

My guess is that we are rebuilding...7 expiring contract..were in for a long season..and there's going to be a lot of finger pointing. Lee needs help from the coaching staff, he needs a defensive beast around him to over shadow his defensive woes, It's bad with him very bad
