Yea?? Iverson will get to the rim and kick out?? really?? This is a selfish individual that just wants to 'get his'. If you thought Gallo was being frozen out now, wait til the ENTIRE team is being frozen out by an over-the-hill has-been malcontent, career-cancer, piece of crud.

DUDE, this guy thinks he's still his 2001-self, but he's an over-the-hill crapster that has lost 2.3 steps.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

And Larry Brown lead that team to the finals and got Detroit a championship, but we know how that worked here.

About as well as its working out for Brown in Charlotte. Brown is a great coach, but Iverson gets alot of the credit pushing the sixers to the finals aswell.

I'll agree... and 8 years ago I had a full head of hair.

I'm disappointed in all of you here, now, today. This guy is the cancer of all cancers. Why do you think NO ONE wants him???

Put it this way, would Iverson be on the Knicks if Isiah was here? uh...YEA.

WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH?!?!?!

If Isiah was here, Iverson would be signed to a 5 year extention.......Its essentially a 70 game rental. I do see why some are up in arms about this. And how is Iverson a cancer? In no way is he in the boat as Marb if thats what you are thinking. This guy did lead a team to the finals, and was league mvp.

What will Iverson do for the future of the Knicks if he is signed this season?

The only thing he will do is give the 'fans' some cheap thrills, a couple 30 point games, and a **** load of drama. These are the same 'fans' that sell out the Garden for a 23 win team

The only influence he can have on our young guys is a negative one, and his negative influence will still dangle over the heads of Gallo and Douglas, and whoever else stays.

This guy was NEVER about making his teammates better. Ever. And if we're building for the future, you can't bring someone in like this. If we're building for a cheap present, then do it, but that's not how you build a winning franchise.

If he is so great, so inspiring, why didn't he receive ANY interest from the other 27 teams in the league??? There's something there.

This is not a signing for the future. We are not trying to kid anyone, its a signing for now/today. But this signing will not affect the future in any way.

How come these negative affects you claim Iverson leaves behind hasn't affected Lou Williams or Iggy in any way. They are blossoming, nicely. No ill-affects from Iverson what so ever.

I beg to differ that he doesn't make teamamtes better. No he doesn't do it in a Magic Johnsone esque way, but his hustle, heart and determination does have a positive affect on teammates, just go ask Eric Snow, Tyrone Hill and the rest of that below average line-up he took to the finals. Besides, our current staring pg isn't making anyone better by a longshot......In fact, some might argue he's making players worse.

^mr uptown:

snow and hill were veterans that probably taught iverson a thing or two about heart and determination.

douglas and gallo already know about all that as rookies, we don't need some washed up malcontent to 'teach' them anything. gimme a break.

The argument "it can't hurt" doesn't work for me. Because like all decisions, it can backfire. Like an all-out revolt by the locker room, or by having 's balls chopped off in some snarky backpage beef, or by distracting the organization from its primary goal.

Walsh this time next year: "Oh, I didn't know how good this or that player was, and I missed that trade or that free agent, because I was putting out the fires with my primadonna starting PG and my 'vibes'-obsessed head coach. I realized Duhon/Nate/D. Lee/AH/Hughes is having a great start with (new team here) and we wish them well. I wish we could have found that here." Imagine your own scenario.

I really want to believe that you can rebuild in New York, but this thread has me thinking maybe the old adage is right.

Look, I know Duhon is looking like Rick Brunson for a minute. But last year he looked like Rajon Rondo for a minute. I'm just saying let's stop planning for the minute. Let's look at the next hour or two.

If the guy -- the current captain for what that's worth -- can pull his game out off the crapper, I'd rather have the chance to see that, then never see that and watch A.I. I can put whoever I want in a Knicks uniform with my PlayStation with no ramifications. Real life ain't like that.

I voted no. Trade season is just getting under way and there could be better options out there.

That's doesn't mean MDA and the coaching staff isn't trying to implement it the best they can nor does it mean that there is not player development. The addition of AI has nothing to do with player development or system. It has more to do with heart and scoring, both of which are also lacking on the team.

come on martin - signing iverson has to do with selling tickets/jerseys and throwing the towel in with this group.

there is no doubt that those things will also happen. But if it were overwhelmingly true, they would have signed him in the offseason.

i dont think knicks brass realized just how bad this team would be this year. they were hopeful going into the season so thats why i believe they didnt go for him in the offseason. now that reality has sunk in, they need someone who can inspire some life.

but there was alot of talk here about this year being about developing and the system. iverson comes in and it all changes. it will be about him scoring 30 ppg while the others try to play with him. do you guys know what you want?

none of the players are smart enough to run the system right now, so it's not really being run. So no big deal, right?

i agree. but people just argue stuff b/c they like to. there was a strong stance about development and system for the longest time. and the word patience. 1-9 and all that's out the window for iverson. there is no patience - that was all hot air.

i dunno...that's not fair, my mayn...

patience still applies to the plan of cap flexibility, but patience did not mean we were expecting a 1-9 start where we are barely even competitive, getting blown out on the reg.

i want to see the system run, but if harrington is going to go 1-on-1 often, the pg can't seem to do anything right, and no one can hit an open jump shot, what are we supposed to do?

sit here and do nothing?

maybe walsh does not bring in iverson, and what can we do about it?

complain on internet forms and sports talk radio.

won't have an immediate impact anyway because the general plan of getting under the cap and maintaining flexibility is the focus, and should be the true focus of patience.

it's a priority thing.

patience applies to that first and foremost.

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

I really don't know what I am reading here. This team has no heart and is already me first. We need a talent upgrade and someone that is willing to compete. Frankly I don't care about his track record I would rather see him at least drive the land then watch harrington, chandler, duhon miss jump shots.

Worst case scenario we banish the guy and let him go. Duhon is getting 30 minutes a night and iverson can do everything he can but better. Play Iverson-Douglas-Gallo-Lee-Curry I am fine with that with Hill, Nate, Chandler getting the majority of the time off the bench. Harrington in my opinion needs to go asap.
