We did not teach our young guys like David Lee and Nate to suck it up and play harder when things get bad, instead we taught them that it was okay to quit when it's someone else's fault that things aren't going well. Our environment stayed the same, an organization where you go to collect your money, play however you want, and in the end management will fire the coach and the GM.

Yes, we taught them good. I'm glad you're as proud of our accomplishment as I am.

Fast forward a few years and what is happening. We are in the midst of gutting our roster to start over again. Every player has a 1 year contract for a reason. Because we realize that they are not winners and are trying to gut the roster to bring in real winners and real stars. Now the team instead of seeing this as an opportunity for them to step up and show the world that they are worthy of long-term contracts. Instead of showing the world that they are really good players and that NY management are idiots for not signing them to long term contracts what do they do? They instead pout and quit once again. they aren't loved so they stop playing. A new batch to go along with some of the same faces. And what do the papers and the fans want??? They want to commit the same mistake of the past. Fire the coach, and show players that in NY it's okay for you to give us nothing

Yep. Fire the coach. I agree. And humiliate him while you're at it. Isn't that what basketball is all about?

Larry Brown was tolerable only cuz his moves seemed to signal the end of the greater evil Isiah, that and he was funny as hell with his verbal jabs at the players.

amusement factor aside:

42 different starting line-ups
giving guys the start b/c they were in their hometown
conducting roadside interviews with the press

was totally rediculous

I don't know what kind of drugs they got out in Detroit but a year removed from the Palace and he was still high.

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

He does not demand or cannot get his players to play solidly defenively--the offense looks erratic--he cannot alter game plans--I mean you can take 5 D leaguer's and should get better defesnive result than what we see --no effort no scheme.

I understand that we havent been able to purge on players this year but if this is the bets DW can do in two years--than I don't expect much in FA. What is going to happen is we are going to be a laughing stock and scare players away---of course we still have to owe up to the no pick and that will further deteriorate the situation.

I think that there has to be some accountability and you cant just say wait until 2010 if you cant even be competitive with 9 guys who know who to play nBA basketball

DW has to take the hit for the shtty drafting trades--what else as a fan can you say--this is not an acceptable situation that has gotten out of hand quickly--we should not be worse than last year but we are and this can not go on.

Dude...

At some point you have to wake up and realize that the make-up of this team is a once in a lifetime like NBA roster.

We virtually have 4 guys (Gallo, Hill, Chandler & Douglas) out of 15 roster spots that are guaranteed to be back. In addition - all of the free agents we have are not normal free agents because they don't really have an expectation of returning to NY (the writing is on the wall).

In addition the 4 guys we'll probably keep are youngsters - not team leaders.

You have a situation where ALL of your team leaders know the team probably plans to move on without them.

In addition your 2 most marketble players prior to Gallo's arrival -- are angry because they were not given multi-year extensions.

This is a GIANT -- beef stew recipe for dissaster.

Not 1 veteran on this team has true skin in the game --- each is more concerned with stats and each in their own way probably wants NY to fail out of spite.

The coach is a good coach --- ask the former Suns who played for him and the Olympians as well.

This is a NASTY formula that we are dealing with this year -- at the beginning I was hopeful it would work out but it's obvious the guys on our roster are selfish losers and have no personal professional pride.

Bip tried to warn you when we fired LB. I don't care if you are a D'Antoni fan or not. This would be the worst possible time to start cleaning house again. Eventually you have to gut this thing. Eventually you will have to suffer some seasons like this as you start over. Question is, do you want to do it now or postpone it again for another 3 or 4 years.

I'm trying to warn you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+1.
