dice did show he is not scared to jump hard off that knee, he missed a dunk where he tried to tomahawk it... It would have been nasty..

Does this mean Chaney is off the hook? That would suck if he is!

They beat Atlanta everyone! Atlanta! At home no less! The final score is not indicative of the game. The gam was close through 3 quarters. It was Atlanta! They are 7-22! It was a nice game, balanced scoring and what not, but it was Atlanta! I Think Chaney is playing DICE too much.

Gony there you go... If they beat a good team like sac-town it's becuz sac-town didn't get up for the knicks, if they lose to Atlanta it's because they aren't being coached properly. If they go to OT against Toronto and lose is it because they aren't being coached properly again. Do the players take any blame for getting offensive fouls called on them by attempting to set a pick at crunch time? What about when opposing team picks somebody on the knicks pocket at crunch time is that coaching too? Now when they beat Atlanta does it not mean anything positive to you?

Summary of last night:

Suddenly, Keith Van Horn was electrifying Madison Square Garden by burying 3-pointers in a personal 11-0 run during the fourth quarter that widened the Knicks' lead to double digits. The backup point guard Frank Williams was dishing seven assists after Chaney brought him off the bench early in the third quarter, helping ignite a 17-2 run to overcome a 7-point deficit.

And Antonio McDyess was catapulting into the air for 10 rebounds and a Knicks-high 19 points, playing with purpose. "For us, for him, especially for him," McDyess said of Chaney.

"I know he had been getting a lot of heat," McDyess said. "Actually, it's really not his fault. Don put everything there for us, step by step. Some of the times we just don't do it. For us tonight, we knew we needed to get this win."

I can def see what GoNy is saying. This win means nothing. All it does is delay Chaney's firing. Unless we get a new coach it's going to be hard trying to be optimistic about this team when you know for sure they will never win with Chaney as HC.

agree this game means nothing. minny will defeat the knicks on tues. kvh had one of the 4 or 5 good games he will have this season. don chaney will be fired. the players want him to be fired because they are tired of losing.

the death spiral continues.

Playa has a point though. I am not defending the coach but lets just try and enjoy the win. We cannot keep saying that Atlanta should've been beaten and is no big deal and Sacramento was asleep at the wheel and thats why they lost. We have to try to see the best in a win. They lose a game and then we can rant on every single one of them but if they win, time to be happy.

You should go on a diet by now, when we put minny to sleep tommorrow and put the hammer down again on MEWELL, cuz he sucked last time we played them.

No, just confident! The season is long, but most of knicks fans patience isn't.

go get 'em playa2! this a knick fan page not the
'let's sound like someones ol'gramma page
knicks need a consistent floor leader /point man than they need a new coach.if frank williams can bring it more than not, then everyone will play better.i agree w/chaney.williams has to prove himself.remember this is the same guy who was outstanding his junior year @illini and disappeared his senior yr.he also came in overweight his rookie year.maybe he is the type that has to be challenged and pushed.he looks good though.mcdyss is coming around nicely and he also adds a little leadership.we got a ways to go .but i like what i'm seeeing .scrappiness, hunger and a little discord.good signs.lets go knicks!!!

I am not saying Chaney is not tryiong to prepare his team. It is his schemes that are wrong and that is why NY is losing. He is not coaching them correctly. He needs to preach defense to the nth degree.

As for the win, they beat Atlanta. Come on now. From what heights this team has fallen when we are celebrating a HOME win against a 7-22 team! Please. It used to be we would get upset if they did not beat the Heat at home by 10. Now we beat Atlanta by 13 and all is right in the Knicks world? Forgive me, if it takes a bit more to convince me. When NY gets to 500, (because that is how to get in to the playoffs), then I will be excited. Don Chaney is 39 game sunder 500 as head coach of this team. He has had more excuses than Michael Jackson has had little boys! It is pretty damn pathetic, that some of you get excited about a win over Atanta, arguable the WORST team in the NBA!

Let's be REAL folks. I am a Knicks fan, but I will be damned if ths win gets me thinking we turned a corner. Let me see KVH light it up in the 4th quarter for the next 6 games, all NY wins and then I will be leading the bandwagon. The reality is that KVh will probably disappear in the next game.

Positives? Houston has arrived. Dice is getting there. FWill can play PG. KT is in the role he should be in.

The problem with this team has been consistency all season, and for the past 2 years really. They have an amazing game (pick any of our wins of Sactown) and then they follow it up with a dreadful loss to the Cavs or something like that. Granted our players have been sub par at best last year, this season there is really no excuses. Last year the big lament was that we had no center, like it mattered in the East. But this year we have 3 really, aside from the big guy we signed after the Nets waived him for nor apparent reason we have Doleac having a great year and Thomas can play some good center. With a healthy Dyes we have a very deep, strong, and tall frontcourt. A team with a deep frontcourt should never be inconsistent, period. Anyways the point I'm trying to make here is that it comes down to motivation and preparedness, two things that coaching is supposed to provide. The lack of consistency, especially when everyone is healthy, is on Chaney and Chaney alone. He has proven once and again that he is not well prepared for games, he is not a good crisis manager, he cannot adjust midgame, and most importantly, he gets out coached at the end of games. Just think of how many close games we have lost, with guys like Houston and Thomas and Ward who have been there this amount of choking is solely on Chaney. As for the whole Atlanta game, it means nothing, but some guys are going overboard by demanding a 6 game winning streak, realistically a 3 game winning streak would mean a lot, then you could say there is some progress.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?
