You ever notice how everytime a coach comes here the conclusion is that they really aren't that good? Lenny Wilkens, LB, D'Antoni. They all apparently can't coach. The only guys that could coach were Van Gundy and Riley. They also happened to be the only guys that came here with a top 50 player of all time on their rosters.

Our players aren't that good, we have some nice pieces but overall we don't really any really good players. I don't care if D'Antoni can't turn water into wine and make our average players into great ones, but I do know he can coach good players and this time next year we should have atleast one of them (maybe 2) and that's going to make an absolute world of difference.
1.) As soon as Wilkens couldn't turn KT and co into a winner we learned that the game had passed him by. He really wasn't a good coach he just got lucky
2.) As soon as LB couldn't turn Marbs and crew into contenders he wasn't a good coach. He was old. Just wanted his money. The game had passed him by. He was gift wrapped a championship with Detroit.
3.) Now we have D'Antoni and he's a gimmick. He got lucky iwth Nash etc.
Someone please explain to me, where do you get the magic coach? Other than Popovich and Jackson how do you get better than those 3 in terms of success? Where is that "real" coach that is going to turn this around. The reality is they don't exist. Like players every coach is coming in here with flaws. Every coach needs "his players". And every coach needs a star.
Now don't get me wrong, I personally can't stand D'Antoni's style. But he has proven he can win with it. Can he win a title, that's a question. But isn't that the question with every coach we would bring in? I just don't understand what miracle worker we are expecting to bring in. The reality is that we have to build an organization first. Until then, what you see is what you are going to get.
FYI: Bip has been saying this since the MSGnetwork days before LB, before wilkens, before D'Antoni. The Bip laid out the exact steps that it would take to get out of this funk. I dare one of you guys to deny it.
