He could do much worse and he shouldn't be getting killed for this in the papers, but it's stupid for a guy with a lot of jingle to not be paying his tickets. It's irresponsible. He seems like a good guy, but he's irresponsible as hell, or so it seems.

He's gone man. If there was any thought of bringing him back for a 1 year deal, it may have just gone out the window. D'Antoni doesn't like him anyway - he doesn't want to deal with this guy anymore. Sad, this guy's got great talent for such a little dude, but his head's just not screwed on right. Not as bad as Marbury, but bad. I just get the feeling management thinks he's too much of a handful and more trouble than he's worth. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd say at this point, the only reason he'll be resigned is to be included in a S&T, not to actually continue playing for the Knicks.

Yeah lets crucify Nate for traffic violations with everything that goes on in sports. This is worse than were going to get our all star PG out of the second round of the 2010 draft picking 58th my man! Anyone who has lived in the city has been pinched for double parking at a minimum and most people forget to pay the tickets--oh well.

Who's crucifying anyone, you ol' buzzard? I gave an objective, educated opinion on where this guy might stand with the team right now. It's already out there that his own coach (and every prior coach he's had in the league thus far) can't stand his on-the-court antics at all - you think his juvenile twittering & then getting arrested here helped matters?? As for my personal opinion - I'm not gonna go crazy with this stuff. True a suspended license isn't rape that's for sure, but still, get your act together lil' Nate. You're too talented and have too bright a future to be making the funny papers. There's still time for you. I actually like the guy's talent a lot. Like I said, I think he's very talented and I love the passion he plays with. I've actually commented many times in the recent past that keeping him might have actually been beneficial for the Knicks as he, on his talent alone, could possibly attract a big free agent next summer (just go into the little UK personal file cabinet that you keep, Briggs, and pull out some of my old posts in case you don't remember. Keep digging, I know it's in there!). Sadly, I don't know if I feel the same way anymore... I just don't wanna see this dude's uneven, sometimes semi-volatile personality get the better of him. I want to see him mature on and off the court and become the best player he can be. So far, we're all still waiting and as of right now, it looks more & more like he won't even be our problem anymore..

As for the rest of your nonsense -- delinquent double parking tickets don't get you arrested know-it-all. If anything, it'll get your car towed away by the City Marshal, so get your facts straight. Failure to respond to a moving violation one way or another will get you locked up. And apparently from what I'm reading now, he's a repeat offender. Nobody's above the law and everyone's liable for their actions and decisions. Period. Here's hoping the lil' fella starts making some better decisions from here on in.

Oh yeah, I don't ever recall saying Nic Wise will become an NBA all-star. When the heck did I say that? I merely stated that there are a few PGs in next year's draft (PGs we might actually have a shot at mind you) that could help us fill that role if we chose to pass on Ramon Sessions because of our highly-delicate cap situation. You wanna deny that FACT, hey, that's on you... Okay? Okay.

Let me know when you plan on giving your next stock market seminar. Please. I'll be sure to attend. I'll bring my notebook, pencils, tape recorder, a little snack, the whole nine... Maybe I'll even bring Herb Kohl along with me and when you put us on a 10 min. break, you can lecture him in great detail on how he could be doing such a better job of managing his team's finances....

Well, whether he drives with or without a license or not, given his celebrity status, it's not like he's trying to hide his identity by not carrying his license. I don't think it's the most terrible thing - I've had a situation where I've misplaced have have driven w/o my wallet, and have driven above 55mph along the way process. And without knowing, one of my rear lights wasn't working.

I found my license a day later. But a day after, I got pulled over - and the cop just noted the lights as a public service announcement. I had my license that day, but easily my luck could have been different.

Not really defending Nate too hard, but I really don't think this is a particularly robust reason why Nate should be crucified. His NYC tickets are hilarious.

Of course the papers are going to latch onto this like a hungry ass mutt given that there has been such little Knicks offseason activity. I see they are already trying to stir up shyt and say that this could affect whether he gets a new deal and all that...lol at that. Layden is gone, nobody in their right mind could be that sanctimonious.

I feel bad for anybody who gets worked up over another man getting his license suspended over a few traffic violations. Thats taking self-righteousness to a whole new level. It says nothing about somebody's character. People my age do stuff like that all the time on their best days. You have to make SOME mistakes in order to learn from them. Life.

I hear you techno, but the thing is you are talking about an isolated incident in your case. Lil' man's license has been suspended four times prior to this. I'm just saying this is not a first time offender type thing here.

I thought the twittering thing was funny as all hell, but that is not saying it was the smartest, most mature, most logical thing to do.

As I said before if you take this as an isolated incident it's cool. It happens, but take into consideration that Nate has done(or has not done) 8 actions that were against the law prior to this in regards to his car. Getting ticketed then not paying(x2 or x3?), and getting a ticket then not appearing. What makes it worse is the double action that led to each suspension. It's like he's had 8 chances, imo.

Seb, I can understand the occasional "Dude, I didn't know she was your wife", or the occasional disorderly conduct charge, or even the, "Dude we went to Mexico one time and you'll never believe what this chick did with this horse...", But Seb, getting your license suspended four times stemming from four seperate incidents?

Damn, you a forgiving cat...I'll have to remember that when when I head to your neck of the woods, lol. Yeah, its obvious he doesnt put his traffic issues high on his priority list. Guess he just doesnt view that kind of stuff as very important. Its of little consequence to him, so its whatever.

I guess I have a vested interest in this because I had a similar story recently. I let a gang of parking tickets accumulate to the point where they eventually totaled about a G. I was just so preoccupied with other stuff that I just let it slide figuring I could just argue my way out of them because the SDSU parking authorities are just so ruthless. I dont think it made me a bad person, I just wasnt on top of my B.I. Somebody just needs to holler at him.

If anything that is even more of a reason to give this story less weight given how much responsibilities a pro athlete must assume on a day-to-day basis.

This is just something he needs to address and stay on top of more...how this can be any deeper than that to some, I dont know.

No you're right. All this shows is that he needs to be more responsible and needs to do a better job handling his money. Those are big things, but they aren't character flaws.

I think this is wake up call for Nate--I think he may have been somewhat of a victim of racial profiling in this latest pull over but that doesn't excuse 5 suspended licenses--that's too much. Maybe he did not know that some stuff was sent back to Seattle--it sounds reasonable and maybe he should not have used his tweeter[and these guys will learn real quick that tweeter and youtube aren't your best friends] He is signed as a Knicks per the QO--he's a really good 6th man and unless we get true fair value for him--it's in the best interests of the Knicks to keep him as sixth man[or injury depleted step in] because he brings a certain energy and hustle that helps the team more than hurts it. He has to continue to learn to channel his energy for the positive. It seems like Nate is a real good kid--I don't see any form of character problem with him what so ever --just the opposite. Unless a team is willing to give us fair S+T compensation for a 17-4-4 player---I'm looking forward to seeing Nate as a Knicks right turn signals not withstanding.

Cops will stop racial profiling when it yields less results. Sorry, just statistics man, just statistics.

Nate got profiled and the cop found the guy was in need of bringing bought in.

Nate is a celeb. He makes big money, and celebs are always gonna be held to a higher standard. If your celebrated as a hero, people wear your jersey, buy your stuff, and root for you its places you on a higher plain and your its gonna be news when your arrested.

Nobody said what he did was "wrong" or "evil". Just "stupid".

Nate has one problem and thats doing stupid things. QO is not an investment and its the reason why he is not locked up for 35 million dollars.

We can like nate, but we can also understand what he does is not in his or the teams best interests.

NATE ROBINSON Hoopster put "rap" on cop.

Knick star Nate Robinson blasted rap music and got belligerent with a cop who stopped his SUV, then tried to use his hoop-player status to avoid being arrested, sources said yesterday.

Robinson, 25, was pulled over in The Bronx Tuesday for driving with an unfastened seat belt. Sources said he cranked up a rap song when the cop walked off to check his license, and then sang along when the officer returned.

But Robinson changed his tune when told he was being arrested for driving with a suspended license.

"Well, I'm Nate Robinson from the Knicks," sputtered the player, the sources said.

"OK, Nate Robinson from the Knicks, you're under arrest," replied the cop, who hauled him off to be booked and held pending arraignment, according to the sources.

But later, police brass ordered that Robinson be freed that night with just a desk-appearance ticket.

I don't have a problem with this on it's own, but I do think it's just another example of how Nate doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes. It's obvious that he has been able to use his celebrity status to get out of problems in the past and it seems to be part of the problem as to why he doesn't listen to authority. Why listen when you can do what you want anyway?

We really need to go back to the days when the tough coach was respected instead of being considered a "disciplinarian" or "meany". Guys like Nate would learn a heck of a lot faster if they were forced to learn from their mistakes instead of having people cater to them or making excuses for them.

Anyway, back to this incident. Nate drives me nuts but I'm still a fan. I don't think he's a jerk because he did these things. He's just an irresponsible guy that still needs time to grow up. Most of us were like that at his age. Unfortunately our basketball team as well as many others can't wait to long for players to grow up.

LOL. Obviously, the officer was not a Knicks' fan.

Nate is obviously not a bad dude, infact - he seems like a real good dude, but as you said, it really seems like he has some growing up to do. His immaturity is probably a primary reason he wasn't offered a contract from ANYONE after putting up 17/4/4 this past season. If/when Nate grows up, he's going to be much better for it.
