These players are something else. The market is setting itself. No teams putting up any offers, means your value is low and no one is willing to overpay anymore. Just take the money and play your tail off and try to get more money later. Take the shorter deal and increase your value, while hoping the economy improves down the line. It's the only play they have left.

I think you pretty much nailed it. To me, Walsh has been playing this Summer very very smart. He never pinned himself into a corner. He never became desperate. He took his stance, stuck with his plan, and it's working. All 3 guys that he reportedly really really really wants are still available, and they will be available until they stop being stubborn and realize they aren't getting signed to what they are demanding.

All those things you guys say about taking the money available now, well, tell that to Lee and Sessions. I think that the Knicks are offering fair deals for both, but if they believe they are worth more, what can you do other than waiting for them to come to their senses...

They will come to their senses, hopefully before it's too late. THe problem ain't the players, it's their agents. Time to get real soon approaches, even for the tard king agents.

Alan Hahn twitter says no offer from Knicks today (per agent).

If we miss this player b/c we're dicking around w/ relatively small amts of $, i'll be pissed.

I would by far want Lee (for 1 year) & Sessions long term that Lee long term & no Sessions.

I just don't understand why an offer is not out there. Is it that we made an offer and Sessions has not accepted or have we not yet made an offer. Walsh would be an idiot not to offer Sessions a 4yr/$16-$18 million deal. I mean I would put that on the table before we even started talking.

would he be an idiot to offer that if milwaukee turned around and matched it 7 days later? i think he's still feeling out what milwaukee will do and trying desperately to protect our chances for next summer.

i'd still go for Iverson. i'd be thrilled with Sessions, I think, but i understand the hesitation.

Maybe i have been looking at the wrong thing but Sessions seem to be a decent not great pg who cant shoot. Why tie up anything for him?

Well Sessions has upside, especially when paired with MDA and his system. He'll be surrounded by good talent and he'll have a chance like Duhon did, to show what he can do. That's a lot of motivation for a young guy with talent. Rondo was similarly shaky skill wise and he's been developing nicely. Sessions could have the same kind of success.

Man, you know how people get around here for young players that DONT play for the knicks.

Imagine if Nate was on Portland or something and was a restricted FA..there would be threads on him daily.
