if i were Nate or D Lee at this point i'd just sign a Q.O. & play out the season & go for a bigger contract next year in free agency when there are a lot more teams w/dollars to spend & hope the economic conditions improve rather than signing a well below market longterm deal now.

I've thought about that TMS and it might work for Nate as Douglas is his competition but for Lee we got more rebounders on the team now and that might expose his shortcomings a bit more now. (Not to mention that darko and Hill could be more complete players, albeit probably not from the start). Also, you have to factor in the big pay cut next year when thinking of any potential pay raise on the following contract. (Meaning the 4 or 5 million less he will make on the QO)

Regarding the economy, something tells me we still have another few legs down. I believe we are in the beginning of an economic transformation, not crisis.

darko as a more complete player than dlee??? personally i think darko is crap. anything we get out of him is a bonus. he's a big body, he expires after one and we offloaded q. he's slredy made a contribution.
