And one more thing: Eddy Curry is a fat lazy sack of **** who is only losing weight in the offseason because his money hungry agent realizes if he doesn't lose weight he won't get signed when his contract is up. If Dolan doesn't get any value from that deal, what do you think he, Walsh, or will say when NBA teams call them to ask their opinion?

Again, when this professional, uh, athlete hits the road and can avoid his agent and gets away from his trainer and can gets stoned with Nate Robinson, plays some xbox and orders a #1, 2, 5, 7 and an 8, and then goes out drinking with Cosmic he'll gain it all back

edit: That's why I'm so pissed too. The dude has probably cut out 1500 calories of daily fast food intake to lose about 25 pounds and the rest was lost with hard work. The professionalism or lack thereof is appalling when you consider the players that the Knicks could've drafted instead of him... Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Tyrus Thomas as well as the next year's pick

[Edited by - supremecommander on 07-13-2009 10:29 AM]

Bro, I'm 100% with you on that matter. My only point was that it's possible to lose the weight he has in 8 or so months.

I don't think he'll have the work ethic to sustain it and I do think the whole situation is f'ed up.

The fact probably is that he can care less about basketball. He needs the money and he's doing this for a contract. Not to help us win a championship.

Its amazing the reporter can't snap a picture of Eddy Curry with their camera phone. Are they not allowed to take their phones into the practice facility?

i am pretty sure they are asked to not take their phones, cameras to the practices if they want in. Otherwise they become public, no?

How the hell is Allan Hahn twittering from the practice facility?

If you lose 40lbs in 6 weeks because you are doing the right thing you must have done the wrong thing for along time.

40 pounds in 6 weeks is bogus. Maybe that number happened, but it's a combination of fat, muscle, and water weight being dropped, with most coming form the latter. In order to lose 40 pounds of fat, you'd have to burn 140,000 calories or restrict your diet. Running a mile is approximately a 100 calories burned. Does anyone think Eddy Curry ran 1,400 miles--or let's just call it 1,000 miles in 6 weeks? Or 233-167 miles a week? Or 33-24 miles a day? Maybe half the weight loss came from dietary restrictions... does anyone think he ran 16 miles a day? Maybe he lost all that weight by starving himself and then still running...

The numbers being thrown around are BS

[Edited by - supremecommander on 07-13-2009 02:17 AM]

Me being a fitness freak would know this best. On a healthy diet alone a person can lose up to 3lbs a week. Healthy diet and exercise leads to about 5lbs a week. You can lose more weight than this in a week but it is usually unhealthy to do so and the weight comes back fast. 6 weeks and 30lbs sounds more realistic than 6 weeks and 46lbs.

jeez man, have some imagination.

let me take it step further: I am sure they are asked not to take pics with their phones, cameras, etc.

Martin, I didn't mean to strike a nerve. I was just alluding to the new open door policy and the more friendly atmosphere that was suppose to come with Walsh and D'Antoni towards the press.

if you want to remark about the open door policy, ask about it. If you want to know why Hahn is twittering while not being able to take pictures, look forward to a DUH remark.

Reporters have been let in to practice, no? That's pretty open. I guess if you want bod shots of Curry-flab, perhaps largemen.com?

You seem angry Martin, don't be. If the practice is open to reporters shouldn't they be allowed to snap some pictures and twitter all they want, what is the harm in that. Or are they saving their stuff for media day?

you know... 26 years old isnt exactly so late in life where a guy cant change his direction. I mean when I was 26 I had just broke up with my then fiance, and was riding my motorcycle around boinking anything with boobs and a heartbeat. I was waiting on tables, managing my personal finances on an hour to hour basis and didnt have health benefits. I was also pretty pleased with myself.

Some grow up faster than others.

Look, I am not saying EC has had some kind of magical awakening which will translate his game and his body to match he new found work ethic... that would certainly be a stretch.

But EC has had some nutty stuff go on in his life, and its clear these last two years have not been good for him.

I just think its possible the dude is having some grownup thoughts about his life, his family and his responsibilities and probably just wants them all to get better. A good place to start is to take better care of one's self, take your responsibilities (work/family) more seriously and go from there.

EC isnt the most competivie dude, but I am willing to bet he's tired of sitting and sucking on the bench. I think if he doesnt have some kind of injury setback we see the EC of two years ago.

I really wished we could have got him on the court for summer league, just to let people know he is alive. It's frustrating because there were times when howard and duncan struggled to guard this guy two years ago. Hopefully he keeps working with this same trainer until training camp and get down to about 285. The first offer you get on this guy regardless of how good he is playing you move him. To many unknowns to let him stick around

"When you're not playing, you're not practicing, there's really nothing you can do," Curry said, "other than be a vegetarian."

The fact that he's doing this and it's NOT even a contract year is a good sign.

If he plays similar to how Zach played at the beginning of last season (Albeit, they have different games) would you trade him?

except Curry is probably so out of shape that he realizes it will take 2 years just to get into the kind of shape that will get him another contract.
