Eddy lost 50 pounds? I'll believe it when I see it. For all we know he was 400 before that.

Dolan Wants Update On Curry
Jul 11, 2009 12:19 PM EST

Alan Hahn reports that the Knicks' owner is interested in hearing about Eddy Curry's progress.

"The Knicks brass -- I'm hearing even the owner, James Dolan, too -- wants to be updated on Curry's progress in his offseason diet and fitness program," Hahn writes.

Curry will be in Las Vegas this week to workout with the Knicks' summer league squad.

The center, who missed almost all of last season, has reportedly shed weight and improved conditioning in recent months.

Hahn wonders if the Rockets' front office may want to have a look at Curry while in Vegas, though he doubts the Knicks will invite other teams to the private workouts.

Dolan should lose some weight, too. Maybe Donnie can ask for an update on him. Though it would likely be in our interest if Dolan gained more weight and died; same with Curry.

50 pounds or not Eddy is the only one that can truely and honestly get the Knicks into the playoffs. If the plan is playoffs then the Knicks need Eddy to badly show up and play with heart night in and night out. If he can duplicate his performance from 2007 I honestly think the Knicks will make the playoffs. As fans i hope he shows us all a different side of his game and just takes it to a new level. I'm rooting for Eddy, I don't necessarily want to trade him without seeing how he comes to camp and how he performs in camp.

Lol, bro, you're DREAMING if you think Curry is 'the only one that can truly...get the Knicks into the playoffs'. Sorry man, but that idea has to come crashing down.

We talk of his '07 performance, how great he was, come on. He was being force fed the ball (like he force feeds himself to raw hamburger patties) on a losing team. With a biased coach that had everything to gain by making Curry seem awesome.

Curry stinks, he shouldn't be in the league, as a human, he should be ceased already if it was not for the puppet masters doling out 10m+ a year for him.

50 lbs in 2 months is a lot, even for a 300-400 lbs person, especially one with a heart condition. 1-2 lbs per week is safe weight loss which if he really started in May would put him at 15-20 lbs of weight loss. So the 50 number is a little scary, but since he is large it is possible.

I doubt he can sustain it, even if he gets through the season in shape - he has shown a history of not being able to stay in shape. The real troubling part is that even if he does show up to play, his value probably won't rebound much because of his history like one of the quotes mentioned. We will most likely have this guy on our roster until he expires which is a crime considering how little he has played in the past couple seasons.

I lost 30 pounds in 60 days last year when I felt I was way overboard with drinking and quit cold turkey. Changed nothing else. Just stopped drinking.

Went from 190 to 160 in exactly 60 days. Given that it's not hard to fathom that a pro athlete under the watchful eye of trainers could lose 50 pounds off his 350+ pound fram in the same time frame.

I heard SNY ran a piece yesterday about Eddy losing 50 pounds, showed footage of him being slimmer, the problem was that Marbury and QBRick were in the footage I heard. LMFAO at that. Journalism at it's best I suppose.

Congratulations on ceasing your alcohol abuse.

Haha, if that's true, about the footage, then that's pathetic. Curry did not lose 50 frickin' pounds- if he did, they'd have some real footage of it. I'll believe it when I see it.

I appreciate that but of course I went back to drinking. Just not at such an abusive level. Still got work to do.... was just more chiming in on the weight loss. If I could lose 30 pounds in 60 days being just some schmuck who was drinking too much --- it's conceivable a pro athlete under such a guided program could drop 50 pounds in the same time off of nearly twice the frame of mine.

Yes, the footage is true, but the Knicks said Curry wouldn't be in Vegas until Sunday - so - any new footage wouldn't appear until then or later....curious why they HAD to run footage when talking Curry...and show old footage. Who knows.
