mck1 giving pharzeone a tough run for his money in the tight race of "who can come up with the most immediate knee-jerk negative reactions to any topic regarding the knicks."

carry on.

That's been clear as day to see for the last 2 weeks.

There is nothing positive to bringing in a 40 yr old who thinks he is still a starter at wil and gallo's position. Why pretend because its pringles and walsh capi-taning the ship the showgirls mentality of nba players will just automatically vanish and everybody will get along like the lollipop guild. Dipping into the mid for a lle vet who plays at a position of strength when there are younger free agents out there that actually fill a need is stupid on top of pointless.

25=30
36=40

It's simple math

Thorton will be 33-34 at the end of his first extension.

Mike D on the Hill offer: "if he was 25 we couldn't have got him"

More recent vid on his inspiring play after years of injuries should have killed his career. Lots of props from his peers.

Me too...

It would be nice to have a guy like him on the team. He's a good guy on and off the court. Besides he's married to Tamia...she'll be in the building alot no doubt.

Grant Hill is being offered $1.9 million by the Celtics where he whould go to be on a contending team. But the money is pathetic for someone of his caliber. If we more than double that for 1 year; ie $4 million for 1 year, he may want to come here. It's a good signing for the Knicks if he does.

Also, remember Walsh can wheel and deal when the right situation presents itself. Like trading Crawford AND Zach last year at the same time in 2 separate deals. Hill gives Walsh more maneuvering ability to make a trade work with some of our other players. Go for it!

That's a good point Mark. If Hill has a great first half, playoff teams are going to be lining up down Broadway to get ahold of his 1yr deal.

exactly....

He could definately trade a Al Harrington and even a Wilson and still be like "well we got Grant Hill."

On a one year deal we can't go wrong. He's be easily our best perimeter defenderr too so don't sleep.....also with being married to Tamia, maybe she has a say because she is an entertainer...there could be opportunity to do broadway, etc....aside from that in the video above...she doesn't seem open to having anymore kids...probably because of her professional career. It could be a factor.

you gonna add anything here or just funnel Islesfan?

Shaq is also a year or 2 away from retiring. So what.

Grant isn't being asked to carry a team or take up much cap space, so the expectations are set. Hill stats are down from his prime but they haven't dropped off significantly from the past 2 or 3 years considering his teammates and style of play.

It is all about the word flexibility- as it applies to MDA's choices on the court, and Walsh's choices as a GM trying to build a better team through trades and aquisitions. Throw in the fact that Hill is a good citizen and perfect role model who knows MDA's system and you have a no-brainer signing if Hill is truly willing.

shaq is where grant should be sniffing at for his last contract - a title contender.

Maybe you should put this out on your Twitter account- I'm sure Hill is a follower of yours.

One would assume that Hill has his reasons for talking to the Knicks. Either he wants to play here for some reason, or he is using us as leverage with another team. Either way I'm not sure he needs your advice on this decision.

And if he doesn't sign with anyone at least he is eligible for Social Security benefits next year- right?

At least Isles was speaking in reality...Isles always over did it but he never lied.

Very good point. We may get offers for Harrington or Hughes in February from some team that needs an extra player for their playoff run. It could get us a mid-round pick.
