The combination of things luckily working out just right (Mutombo in his prime, east being weak) in one season basically bought him a hall-of-fame ticket that he would have never come close to getting under most circumstances.

so the possibility of finishing his career in the top 10 in total pts, ppg, steals, ft attempted, ft made and no worse than top 15 across the board despite being one of the smallest guard ever will have nothing to do with it?

Nothing because he wasn't a team player. last time I checked, basketball was a team sport. Iverson is one of the most overrated players of his generation. Bank that.

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

No to Allen Iverson

I second that. I'm pretty sure Walsh agrees.

I was a big fan... and I'm still going to third it. he's not the same player. All those years of going to the rack with reckless abandon at 117 pounds finally took its toll

I love the guys competitive fire, but just can't stand his game just like I never was a huge fan of Marbury's game, even when he was awesome. There's just something about your point guard or 6'0" shooting guard taking 100 shots a game while everyone else is standing around that just bothers me. Even if the talent around him is much inferior.

Like I said though, he was always a hell of a competitor on both ends and that's what puts him a few notches above Marbury.

AI back in the day was a game-changer. one of the best scorers ever. no at this point in his career? even for a 1 yr deal? i dont want to break the bank for the guy but if he wants to play for a yr, i'd rather have him starting at 2 than the other options (larry freaking hughes)
