Lee was the focus of the other team defense last year and he scored 16 points a game how can you say he cant score. Say he cant play defense and block shots but he can score and rebound.

no he wasn't. Perhaps when a shot went up and there was a chance for a rebound, but that's it.

Free agent Hedo Turkoglu(notes) has backed out of his commitment to the Portland Trail Blazers and could be signing with the Toronto Raptors, a source close to the talks told Yahoo! Sports on Friday night.

Turkoglu had agreed on a five-year, $50 million deal with the Blazers, but changed his mind and could be headed for a five-year, $56 million deal with the Raptors. Toronto would have to renounce three free agents – Shawn Marion(notes), Carlos Delfino(notes) and Anthony Parker(notes) – to create the cap space for Turkoglu.

Apparently, the Blazers are already busy exploring other free-agent options for the $9 million in salary-cap space.

Five years ago, Turkoglu was close to signing with the Phoenix Suns that now-Toronto GM Bryan Colangelo was running, but changed his mind and went to the Orlando Magic.

Every team almost put a guy in the lane to stop the pick and roll because they wanted Wilson Quentin and all the other three point shooters jacking up shots from three they couldnt make. Lee was the second leading scorer on this team wasnt he?

looks like hedo's going to toronto for 5 years $52 mil - $2 more mil than what porltand offered.

raps offered marion $36 mil and he said no. good luck shawn aka spree aka vlad rad.

now it's remained to be seen how colangelo will get creative since he most likely had to renounce marion + ap + delfino to make this signing unless they work out a slick sign and trade with orlando.

orlando isn't taking on anymore $$$ with what they just committed to vince, they'll most likely just let hedo walk.

Of course DJ has the Toronto scoop. Toronto is a great town, and is apparently a more cosmopolitan fit for the Turkish Michael Jordan and Mrs. Turkish Michael Jordan than the City of Roses. Very interesting to see Toronto get the quality of life bump. I have Canadian family and have spent a lot of time in Ontario. I remember seeing a Vince Carter interview on MuchMusic (Canadian MTV) back in the day and dude had picked up the accent and used it in the interview. I was amazed. Something I'm not sure folks got to hear stateside.

BTW, I'm a little Allanfan'd. Glenlivet is a wonderful thing!

Maybe it's just part of the business but I think it's wrong to verbally agree to a contract and then back out.

Hedo is headed to Euro North. What a surprise. Conlangelo is doing a bang up job there. Bosh can't get out of that place fast enough and DeRozan is screaming wait up.

i don't understand what you mean by bad job.

toronto is 4th in home attendance. he just stole a free agent from portland. marinate on that...a guy could've signed with portland who is a potential contender and he decided to go to toronto.

he's finally getting people to want and play in toronto. now, obviously, it looks like it's all international guys that want to go there but it's still good. they are playing behind the 8 ball when it comes to keeping guys there. whether bosh stays or leaves won't cripple the franchise.

the team is making a ton of money, selling a ton of tickets, and is actually being built on guys that want to stay there. 2 playoff appearances and then he took a gamble and it flopped. now is another major change. and imho, bargs is gonna have more of an impact than bosh down the road anyways. btw, bosh is pumped up about it, here's his twitter:
chris bosh "IF IT'S TRUE..Let's get it cracking H Turk!!!"

there's still a whole summer left to make moves and be creative adding pieces. there will be bargain basement vets available and the raps offer alot of playing time so they can sign 1 year deals and then bounce in 2010.

they ain't a contender. they will probably never be a contender. but they are not an nba wasteland anymore.

atlanta was a free agent wasteland until they ante'd up for joe johnson. maybe this starts changing US players perceptions of toronto.

most likely...but there still could be a S&T involving 1 or more of them to orlando.

depending on hedo's salary and the cap this year, they may not have to renounce deltron and sign him to 2-3 mil per year.

montreal is a great city. and so is toronto. they have sections like nyc - chinatown, greektown, little italy. it's like a much smaller scaled nyc. and the women are beautiful.

toronto is a far more cosmopolitan city than most american cities, as is montreal.

it is VERY international in flavor. a lot of immigrants. it is one of the most diverse cities in the world.

the options for food and "ethnic" neighborhoods rival nyc.
