I don't understand the sympathy for Curry here. Nor do I understand the call for the NBA to "help these players out" by imposing spending restrictions or other such non-sense.

What ever happened to personal responsibility? If you can't look out for yourself, you deserve everything that comes to you. This is the difference between the men and the weak losers-- both in life and in the NBA.

Curry is a failure as a human being, a failure as a member of society, a failure as a basketball player. He deserves no sympathy, no help; get out of the league, fat man, can't wait to forget you.

Uh. Just in the past few years, his infant daughter was murdered, he was tied up and robbed, he was extorted, his ex-agent stole money from him...ext

By the way who would this be:
A former NY Knick who at one time was making $200,000 per month in salary retired early due to child support payments. He had three kids with his wife and 12 kids outside his marriage, after child support, taxes and agent commissions were deducted he only brought home $15,000 per month

only 15k a month??? oh the horror!!!

15K for you is a lot of money; for NBA player’s lifestyle is nothing. The fact is he had to give up 185K out of 200K each month.
Eddy can be in even worth situation. The amount of free riders and crooks around black NBA players is unbelievable. They are used and abused by anybody and everybody.
Do you know any white NBA player who broke?

when I moved to Atlanta I used to live next to a rookie player who was with the MLB montreal expos.. He then signed a huge deal with the Braves. I won't reveal his name, but we got to know each other as did my wife and his live in girlfriend. We both had our sons a week apart so we had some things in common. When he got that big deal, his girl told us, all the crap that came with it and how complicated his life became... From family, to friends to people wanting you to finance business deals. After some years he and his girlfriend seperated, but not after she gave him two kids. Now he had a huge child support payment and he purchased her a 400k house down the steet from him and a brand new custom lexus. these guys spend so much money and without good people around you, it is easy to lose it all.. just look at Holyfield. I pass his house(which is in forclosure again) every day on my way home, and I say to myself, who in the hell needs a 54 thousand square foot home on 200 acres.. just idiotic spending..

Holyfield had the hots for the music business and he formed a record label. Those music blood suckers played him and took a lot of Holyfields money plus other bad investments he made. He would have been better off putting his money in a swiss bank account yielding no interest but keeping what he made.

The world of money is simple. Smart takes them from stupid.
The universal low of market is: “Money are not coming from nowhere and not disappearing, but changing hands.”
They get accumulated from hands of "no-clue" many to the hands of small group of professionals.
As soon as we still have Eddy's around, our economy will be fine.

By your logic, you should be good for the economy too.

Curry's a dumbass, but he does deserve better fate. The smartest man in the world could have his children and ex wife murdered and be held at gun point at any given moment. All of that is because there are f'ed up people right up his ars.

He definitely needs to hire better people regarding his financial decisions though.

No, no one deserves anything in life. And how did I know sebstar would rush to Curry's defense? No reason, not rational.

It's simple-- you make a mistake, you can't blame anyone but yourself. The people that cry a river over Curry's problems are likely the same people that would blame others for their own short comings.

A mistake or two is one thing but an entire mistake laden life is not something anyone should sympathize with or come to the defense of.

I don't wish Eddy harm or anything but I see and feel no reason to be sympathetic towards him either as it's just been a continuous life filled with stupid mistakes. At some point he's got to take the blame for his actions and to me it's obvious that should have begun before he even became a Knick.

I won't speak for the death of a family member, not sure how that's his fault. I definitely feel bad for him there.

But as far as the money is concerned, that is his fault. The reason guys like this always get in trouble is because they are handed so much and never have to experience failure or do things for themselves. For those of us in real life when we make mistakes our houses are taken away, we lose our cars, we file for bankruptcy, we go into massive credit card debt. Rarely do we have anyone with the financial means to help us out. Instead we have to suffer the results of our mistakes. Most of us learn pretty quick how to avoid those idiotic mistakes again in the future. Those amongst us that have family members constantly bail them out never learn. That's what happens to athletes, they never have a chance to learn. And when they lose all their money they become like the rest of us. They have to go out and work for a living. Personally I don't feel sorry for someone who has to work for a living.

These guys have leeches all around them. They have bad business people all around them. They have vets who try to warn them. They have vets who give them the phone numbers of good honest business people. But they choose to go to family members and friends because they can't say no. Who's fault is that?
I just hope that people will like me

I hope eddy can clean up his finances and direct his child like energies to the serious profession he has choosen.

Play ball, earn money, save it, take care of your wife and kids, love them and only them, read a few books, sleep at home, slow it down!

I wish he has a great comeback with the knicks and proves to himself and his family that he is a prideful MAN!!!!!!
