Paul Harris woulda been nice.. I'm lookin at Jerel McNeal, I think he can end up being a pretty good player.

They just spent 4mm on Douglas--if McNeal came in and was superior--that might make them look a little foolish. I agree Id like to see him but I doubt it. I really think Morris Almond deserves a real good look--he can really shoot the ball--Jesus I really thought he was Alan Houston part 2. No one remembers just how good of a three point shooter the guy is with that great body. Sometimes other peoples junk is your gold.

You may be right about McNeal.. I would hope that Donnie/MikeD aren't so concerned about things like that and instead wanting to get the best players on the team, but you maybe right.

I also though Almond was going to be good, he still can be. If we ever signed him, he'd get plenty of open looks and the guy is a dead-eye shooter so he'd probably put some good points and %'s. A change of scenery might be all he needs.

Almond--how many guys come on a tad later in their life and turn out to be real good ball players because they found a fit? I can name hundreds of examples--i.e Anthony Mason John Starks--etc.. and on down the line. It's about how a guy fits. And Almond at 6-6 220 with a real high % three point gun should be a high quality fit here. They want guys who can not only shoot it--but hit the darn shot at better %

I always believe that you just keep a keen eye open during the SL process. It doesnt really matter what team a player is on--you can swoop in and sign anyone. I would think the Knicks would be looking at guys who can shoot first--like Leo Lyons Hyfelt from the big positions and then guards like the two guys from Marquette. I would still like them to look at Morris Almond or Marcus Williams since we still need to look at PG's and shooting guards with size. Nevertheless--I think that you just keep your eyes open and not worry that much about who is on what team.

It'd be nice to see a committment on our part beforehand for once. You'd figure that the team that brings in a particular player for summer ball is in the best possible position to make a decision on that player - they're with your team under your coaching staff and you have the opportunity to see how they blend in with some of your other young talent throughout the entire process. If a team brings in a particular player and he plays well, what kind of a chance do you really have to get him if you're another team on the outside looking in? I'd like to see them put their best foot forward with this stuff for once..

Here's how the summer league roster is shaping up right now:

Outside of our own draft picks & Sene's defensive potential as a backup center, what else is there to really get that excited about here? Wink Adams? Come on man. Shaping up to be just another summer of missed opportunities because we refuse to go the extra mile after the draft...

look at that Golden State roster---they will be killing teams by 30 Curry Morrow and Randolph

Sacramento has both Mcneal and Matthews[and they both haev a solid chance to stick]

Yeah Briggs, I completely agree with you. Passing on Almond would be a big mistake for this team I think - he just fits in with what we're trying to do here on too many different levels.

They want Douglas and Hill taking 25 shots each. We don't really pay attention to detail--we havent in over 10 years. the culture now is to somehow appease Dolan and thats it.
