They rated them the two best guards. I think they see Rubio as the passer and Flynn as the scoring guard which may not be far off. Flynn is just a short guy. Kahn is explaining himself right now.

Rubio Likely To Stay In Europe?

Jun 25, 2009 10:59 PM EST

Ricky Rubio's father gave an interview after the draft stating that his son is now likely to stay in Europe for one or two years, rather than signing in Minnesota.

Yahoo! reports that a trade between the Knicks and Wolves to send Rubio to New York is likely. But later reports suggest that the Wolves are so far stating that they'll retain their rights to the Spanish point guard.

"I'm not thinking about the marketing right now," Rubio said. "I'm thinking about to play minutes. That's my love. I want to play basketball, and if they give me minutes, I'm going to come."

Asked if he was excited to play for Minnesota, the 18-year-old said: "I'm excited to come to the NBA."

Rubio, whose trickery and slick ball-handling, as well as his mussed brown hair, have led to comparisons with former American sensation Pete Maravich, was projected by some experts as the second-best prospect in this year's draft.

But unlike his fellow prospects, Rubio's draft status may have been complicated by his 4.75 million euro ($6.6 million) buyout he must pay in order to be set free by his current team, Spain's DKV Joventut.

"Now I know where I'm going to go, so I have to talk with the team, what exactly they want about me, and if necessary, I'm going to pay the buyout," Rubio said. "We are closer to an agreement with the team, so we are going to see."

Sucks for him. Hahn was just on the WFAN and said that the Knicks aren't as high on him as everyone assumed. Described him in terms as an uncomplete player as described by the Knicks. Curry was their first choice and then Hill. He said the Knicks are very happy with their picks. Seems like Walsh and D'Antoni wanted to get better defensively. Shot blocking I guess was a priority. Walsh did say that in last SL. I can see D'Antoni being digusted by Rubio's lack of a reliable jumper.

Starting:

Curry
Lee
Harrington
Chandler
Duhon

Backups:
Darko
Hill
Gallinari
Douglas

This is for the beginning of the season. I think we keep Lee. I have no idea what they do with Nate. So here, I'm assuming he walks. Gallinari needs to develop still, as do Hill and Douglas, before we talk about starting. We need to raise Curry's value. We still have holes, we but if our moves turn out to be the best they can be, then we helped ourselves fill things up a bit.
