Minnesota should have set themselves up with those picks....why draft 3 point guards...what was the point of trading ty lawson to denver??? Dumb ****......no explaination.

I'm totally disgusted and I feel Minnesota should be investigated. They are a **** franchise...I'm still mad about them drafting Love when Al is there....and why do they wanna trade Jefferson???

Dumb mofo's...why they gonna do this to these kids careers?

The

Hey if we benefit, why care?

If I had been Minny, I would have taken Rubio & Hill and been very set. Then take a SG/SF with the later two picks.

The Walsh/Kahn link is significant, and I have been saying from the moment that they took Flynn and Rubio that there was a future trade. Kahn probably knew that Curry would be taken by GS, but that GS might pass on Rubio, or THEY (GS) would use Rubio to trade with us, and and either way we would get Rubio without giving up anything to Minny. By taking Rubio at 5, they give up the larger rookie contract if they trade him to us, and get whatever they are going to get from us.

If anyone can explain why Minny would keep Rubio and Flynn, and how they would use them together, would they please tell me.

By the way, if a sign and trade is involved, could this have been announced today?

i agree, i don't see any other explanation for why MIN would take both Rubio & Flynn... that's just moronic... if Rubio was the guy MIN wanted they wouldn't have taken Flynn, they would have taken someone like Derozan or Hill, guys that can run the floor & excel in an uptempo style.

Kahn is absolutely gushing about Rubio (calling him a transformational PG). And he also thinks Flynn is a scoring guard.

Good luck starting those 2 small guys in your backcourt. I do personally think there is a trade works, but maybe thats the homer in me. Who knows.

You'd think they'd plan to trade the guy they took with the higher pick to save on salary. It's minor savings, but adds up over time for a team like Minny.

Rubio Likely To Stay In Europe?

Jun 25, 2009 10:59 PM EST

Ricky Rubio's father gave an interview after the draft stating that his son is now likely to stay in Europe for one or two years, rather than signing in Minnesota.

Yahoo! reports that a trade between the Knicks and Wolves to send Rubio to New York is likely. But later reports suggest that the Wolves are so far stating that they'll retain their rights to the Spanish point guard.

What is Kahn supposed to do? Come out and say - 'Yeah, me and my buddy walsh- yeah, the guy that basically got me my job and helped get me where I am today- we've worked out the principals of a trade with Rubio where we S&T Lee or Nate and I bundle in Rubio and some other players (Jefferson)'

Can you say Tampering!

He can't say anything and he has to play it this way.

Now, maybe we don't have a deal thoroughly worked out, but I have to believe they are going to trade Rubio for the best deal.

Just like McHale did with his bud Aigne & West did with the Lakers.

I just cant see any realistic trade that makes this happen and makes sense for them. Duhon and Chandler for Cardinal and Rubio? What a terrible trade for Minn. I think Rubio is the kind of star you give up whatever it takes to get.

Kahn on ESPN right now. Saying he is not trading Rubio or Flynn. He calls them special. Kahn said most championship teams have 3 darn good guards. Says that Rubio and Flynn will not always be bad shooters. Kahn said they knew about indicating he will stay in Europe and was prepared to deal with that issue. Kahn said there is a buyout issue but they are prepared to wait for him. This doesn't sound like a guy who is trading his guy besides he has another point guard to fill in.

What is Kahn supposed to do? Go on ESPN and say, yea, we're trading Rubio.

Right, I see that Rubio will have leverage here, BUT

What do the Knicks have that MN will want?

David Lee? --> they already have Kevin Love
Nate? --> they just took Flynn who is already a better orchestrator

They'll ask for Chandler and thats alot to ask. Only way I see it happening is if MN decides they want expirings and we send them Harrington or Hughes.

I want this to happen as much as anyone else, but I just dont see it right now

i'm not giving up hope on Rubio, that pick just doesn't make any sense to me from a MIN perspective... why would they risk him not wanting to play for them & staying in Europe after trading up to nab that pick to begin with?

can't wait to see Hill in action for us either... ur gonna like this guy, trust... he's gonna bring the nastiness in the paint we've been looking for.

Guys (gals?), this just might be the greatest basketball conspiracy to have ever occurred.

As some have suggested there is a connection between Kahn and Walsh. Kahn owes Walsh one and they are playing the perfect game right now. Kahn didn't become what he is with the thought that Flynn is a SG, when he is just too highly rated as a point. You don't make that kind of conversion. It all boils down to us not being able to trade Lee/Nate yet, so a work around had to be figured out.

So, they make this into some fireworks, a few bad words said and what not. You know, to make it look real. (We don't want tampering charges now do we?) Then when all looks like it's lost, a deal is worked out. Perhaps Lee is in on the Conspiracy too and has agreed to go to Minnesota as they prefer him in an up-tempo system over Love

Anyway, maybe a part of this, or enough of this is true to make this happen.

I'm thinking I may be able to buy into this conspiracy theory.
I was thinking Minny would just trade Flynn, but Rubio is flexing his juice card.

This could be the best summer we've had in a long time.
