![]() Posted by Allanfan20:Posted by SupremeCommander:Posted by Allanfan20: I think most of what you're doing is right. If you're enjoying what you're doing I stay stick with it and focus on improving your times in the short term. I'd say make sure you stretch... when you wake up and before and after your cardio. That'll keep you lookin sexy. Keep improving with the cardio but don't get too comfortable with that because strength training is important, but it isn't the only option available. What you eat is probably more important than lifting for your weight loss goals... I'm not big on the whole counting calories thing. Just figure out how much food is 2500 calories and try to stick near that without being anal about it. Pay attention to the labels if you eat a lot of food product (**** that's wrapped and made by a scientist) and less if it's actually food, like homemade roasted chicken and green beans. Look to eat nutrient dense foods too... meaning more vitamins and minerals per calorie. To actually get into lifting I would suggest training for something. For example I started getting into kayaking so I do more pullups, situps, and explosive movements than before but I work hard so I can stay in the river longer. DLeethal wrote:

![]() Still 259 lbs. I had a great week all week. Went to the gym on Saturday. Had a great workout. Then I played some one on one bball after that. 4th of July BBQing/drinking/beer pong will do that to you. Was way too hungover yesterday to get to the gym. It's back to work today though.
I must say, it was a kick ass night though. Hope everyone else here can say the same. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() Posted by Allanfan20: That's great! Really great. Sometimes people get so obsessed with weight loss they stop living and are totally consumed by the scale. The goal should be modifying lifestyle so that your weight loss is sustainable. Too often people totally completely restrict themselves and end up quitting once the mental burden becomes to great. That usually happens after they refuse brews and burgers on the 4th or only eat green beans on Thanksgiving. DLeethal wrote:

![]() LOL Thanks.
You could have shot me in the head and even that wouldn't have stopped me from enjoying my 4th of July. The bad part about it is I feel very tired and lazy today, but that's ending tonight. Having a X-Zylo catch and then going to the gym. I think I'm going to change my routine a little though this week. I'm going to start doing wind sprints. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() 251 lbs now. I guess big weeks come, just as there are weeks when you don't lose a single thing, albeit it was b/c of 4th of July.
I am feeling more athletic though. I'm running faster and I feel a little quicker. Hopefully that's the actual reality and not only what I'm feeling. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() So you've lost about 25 lbs? Congrats!
I'm bummed out that I've had a shoulder injury and can't play basketball. I've taken 10 days off but it's still sore. The physical therapist said it's just a muscle strain. I think back when I was 20, it would have healed by now. Things do heal slower when you're in your 30s! |

![]() Posted by Bonn1997: Thanks. I'm about a third of the way through. Just feel lucky that you didn't sprain your ankle 500 times in high school to about the age of 22 or so, the way I did. I still feel that to this day. Fun times. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() Posted by Allanfan20:I had lots of ankle sprains (and one hairline fracture) until I started wearing good ankle braces. Haven't had any ankle problems since then. Never had knee problems. I'm lucky with that, although it's probably at least partly due to the fact that I'm fairly lean and I'm not putting a lot of stress on my knees.Posted by Bonn1997: |

![]() Thanks. I have a ways to go though. I also had to make some adjustments. I have to really really minimize what I eat at night now. Last week, I weighed myself every morning just to see what's going on. For a few nights earlier in the week, I had carbs at night, and I ended up gaining a little weight from it, so I stopped that, and ended up getting back on track.
That's going to be my next adjustment. Just watching my carbs. I'm certainly not going to to do no carbs. I need to keep the carb count a little lower though. And probably no carbs at night. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute
