Curry has expressed a desire to play for the Knicks in Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo motion offense. "Comparing how I played in college and how it translates to the NBA, this is the system to be in," he said. "D'Antoni had Steve Nash, so he knows how to develop a point guard. Why not want to go here?"

Curry is clueless. PASS!

If Curry really wants to learn to play pg on the NBA level and still stay at the top of the lottery then playing for Flip or Nelly should be his goal.

Wait - are you suggesting that Curry should want to play in G State with Don Nelson? The same Don Nelson that has turned that franchise into a laughingstock? The same Don Nelson who has played head games with Anthony Randolph & told Crawford he should opt out or he would be traded?

I'm not saying D'Antoni has taken a rookie and molded him into a PG (when has he had a chance post Denver?), but his system has certainly helped PGs take the next step.

D'Antoni had Nash within a year of taking over in Phoenix, and again, I do credit the system to Nash's MVPs. Even this last year before Duhon gave out midway through the season, he was looking pretty damn good running the point - much more impressive than anything I saw in Chicago.

Curry is a player, and I've loved what I've seen from him, both shooting and passing. Put him in D'Antoni's system that focuses on PGs, and I think he'll look good himself.

lturned them into a laughingstock? so what were they the 10 plus years prior to his return?

Yes I think he should want to play for the same Don Nelson that got the Warriors to the playoffs after a 14 yr drought and upset top seeded Dallas in 07. The next year they won 48 games but it took 50 to make the payoffs in the west.

Did Nelson hurt Randolph? By the numbers he responded positively to the mind games both scoring and rebounding wise.

can't knock Nellie for not wanting Crawford especially when he has Ellis Jack and Morrow to hold down the 2.

He had Barbosa since his rookie year. He had Marcus Banks fresh off his rookie contract.

SSOL may put alot of weight on the pg's shoulders but that doesn't mean MDA is developing the point guard.

Both guys were playing behind Nash. Barbosa is a good rotation player and earned his minutes, but if you're getting him out on the floor with Nash, you're not going to use him as a point.

Banks is a scrub, and I'd sooner chalk him up as a bad signing opposed to a D'Antoni failure, but hell I'll give you that one.

If we draft Curry, he's coming in to fight for the starting PG role, and that's drastically different than coming in for 10 mpg to be a back up for Steve Nash. Again, I'm not saying D'Antoni has taken a rookie and all of a sudden molded him into a PG, rather his system has taken something that's already there and improved upon it, and that's where I think our opinions differ. I already see Curry as a PG, not needing to be converted to one. I think he has the tools and the IQ to come in and take over the point.

hope you're right about Curry.

NY hasn't had a pg with a floor game since Harper and he was old when he got here.

Marbury had the talent and tools but he was uncoachable.

Mardy had the mindset but no high gear.

I just wish the hype around Curry and his success wasn't so attached to the Lebron caboose. I'd feel more comfortable knowing that if Lebron chose Brooklyn, NYC would still have a "Wade" as a guard
and not a Mo Williams.

In general response to this thread overall:

Is this not his third workout? How many workouts do these guys do? I don't think it means anything more than he's already showcased his talents and those teams interested in him have seen him. No reason to keep working out for more if that's the case. Remember, while a specific team may work out a player scouts from other teams are welcome to come watch. It makes it easier on the players.

I agree with you. Plus, if he really wanted to be a Knick, why work out for the Wiz who pick 5?

there was a report the other day that curry had a workout scheduled with the Twolves. he hasn't worked out with the Twolves or Warriors or Kings - this is a clear example of a guy shutting it down. You think the Kings wouldn't want to see Curry? Maybe he wants to play with either the Knicks or the Wizards? Either way, it's a good sign for the Knicks if they do in fact want Curry.

I don't think D' develops players and I don't think you should draft because you think a guy might fit his system. The Knicks have the eighth pick, they need to pick the guy with the most upside. They do not have a superstar at any position. Teams mess up when they lock in on a name. The Knicks did that with Balk and Gallo and there were alot of guys taken after them that are and will continue to be much better players. I hope Walsh is an independent, global thinker in this draft.
