I know he is a skillful big, but how is Charlie V w/ regard to:

-defense

-professionalism (does he have a little Tim Thomas laziness in him)

-durability (strikes me as the type that gets pushed around, beaten up)

Why hasn't he developed into a better player despite all that potential?

i thought thats why toronto shipped him out when he first got into the league. maybe our resident raptors homer dj shed some light on charlie v's days in toronto?

The guy averaged 16-7 playing 26 minutes shooting 45% and 35% from 3 on a team that lost it's main guns and averaged less than 100 points per game--if you equate that out to 39 minutes that = 24.5 points 10 rebounds 2.7 assists and 1.2 blocks and he's 24 years old. He's played almost every game the last two years. Now think with more space and uptempo what those numbers could be if we filled him into Jefferies spot.

That would make us 6-11 6-10 6-9 across the frontline with similar skills to what the Magic have in their forward with Lee at C. This is a scoring offense first--defense second.

If we can get Evans and Mullens in the draft--we would have a very big team with a lot of diversity--a team that would be quite appealing to a FA imho.

we have Al Harrington & Gallo, no need to go after Charlie V... he's not what we need right now... we need someone who can bang in the post, blocks shots & plays defense down low... we also need an upgrade at the SG position & a PG to groom for the future.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

ignore features cheapen the forum experience and counter-productively diminish the scope ofone's view on the knicks.

birdman is exactly what we need.but he's also 31, 32 next season. how much longer can his body take the pressure after years of drug abuse?

are you really that ignorant and uninformed about this subject. do you even know what substance he was suspended for....NO...no-one does b/c birdman has made it a point to not mention it. also, you realize that his 'drug abuse' spanned a whopping two years right? so its not like he was a 10 yr meth junkie living on the streets. he is a highly conditioned professional athlete who probably eats well and exercizes alot. therefore, the human body will counter most effects of mild (and some severe) drug abuse over a short period of time...by the looks of it, he seems to have recovered pretty damn good.

from a public service perspective - he did say in an interview the other day that it doesnt matter what drug it was, the purpose is that he is now clean, learned from it and is a HUGE spokesperson in the denver communit trying to help people who are where he was.

i mean dont you believe in someone making mistakes and then learning from it? even you admitted to buying "contraband" back in the day, does that make you such a bad person? i'd argue that your posts are some of the most uninformed jibberish to ever grace the pages of UK, but that doesnt mean i think youre a bad person or that i feel your posts could get better....with time.........you get my jist or head still in the sand?

jimmy is angry.

1. i don't know why you brought in that republican thing in a discussion over birdman...clue me in to that one.

2. i didn't say that he didn't change nor did i say that he is incapable of change. i have changed myself. i used to purchase illegal contraband but i've grown out of that. it is very likely that birdman grew out, as well.

3. when i said 'how much longer can he go after years of drugs', i simply meant that drugs, especially harder, less researched chemicals such as meth, can do serious damage to the body. i won't pretend to know what drugs to do the mind, the body, or whatever-- but i do know that the full effects of substance abuse are sometimes hidden until many years after the fact. that's all.

edit:

uninformed jibberish? that's pretty harsh. i know for a fact that i am a very intelligent and reasonable person, so your argument carries no weight. if you don't agree with a persons opinions, you don't have to cry about it like a young human.
