even if Rubio tries to force his way to NY, the only possible way for the Knicks to get him is if we trade up to the top 3 or 4 slots, cuz the difference in rookie scale salary from #2 to #8 is nothing to sneeze at... there's no way he's gonna slip to us where we're slotted to pick if that's what anyone's thinking... Rubio's already looking at losing a big chunka change w/the buyout as it is.

We'd have to trade up to the second or third pick. Memphis may be happy with the Thabeet, but even if that happened, no way Oklahoma City passes on Rubio to take Hill, Harden or DeRozan.

agreed... i think getting Rubio isn't in the cards for us cuz we have nothing to offer other teams to move up that high... it's too bad we don't have another lottery pick to parlay w/our own right about now, in'it?

except rubio doesn't really seem to fit their team, unless okc wants to have two guards that can't shoot too well, and make westbrook a 2.

my hope is that this issue gives the knicks their window of opportunity to come in.

i think the 3rd pick could work, but i wonder if we would have the pieces.
Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

I would LOVE to see the Knicks make a push for Rubio, but I believe the lottery was our one chance to get him. Maybe the buyout scares away teams like Memphis and OKC, but Sacramento isn't passing on Rubio, nor would Golden State. I'm not sure we have the pieces to get a trade done with Memphis or OKC, especially since Lee and Nate would need to agree to a trade.

At this point Walshtoni seems content waiting for Curry.

Curry is going to be gone before the Knicks pick. Look for Curry to get picked by Kings. Once the teams start looking at lottery prospects Curry's stock is going to shoot up. He is one of the most NBA ready talents in the draft.
