this is of course a flawed question since we won't know a lot of things until then, but just to guage the temperature of the forum's feelings about who we think will wind up being picked... i couldn't include everyone, but these seem like guys that could wind up landing in our lap.
Jennings
Evans
Curry
DeRonzon
Thabeet
Harden
Flynn
Lawson

i also love the idea of chandler + #8 to trade up for rubio, please make that happen.

i'd much rather trade Gallo & the #8 to move up than get rid of Chandler... to me he's the only one i really don't wanna give away in any deal unless we're getting an already established star player in his prime.

I can't believe people would give up Chandler for Rubio.

I hope people are voting for Curry because they THINK that is who will the Knicks will take and not because they WANT the Knicks to take him. Curry wont be a good pro, plain and simple. Please do not draft him for the love of God.

I keep saying that this draft sucks. Think back to the 2000 lottery. Guys like Marcus Fizer, Diop, Stromile Swift, Courtney Alexander, Chris Mihm, Darius Miles, Dermarr Johnson, Mateen Cleaves, Etan Thomas, Jerome Moiso, Pryzbilla, and Keyon Dooling. Those are 12 of the 14 guys selected in the lottery. The only all-star from that draft? Kenyon "the original Fugazy" Martin. Remember that draft? Yeah, this is gonna be the same thing all over again. A lot of these guys are just not NBA level talent. And if they are, they certainly aren't lottery level talent. In a better draft they are mid to late round picks.

we're likely gonna be picking from guys like Curry, Evans, Clark, Henderson, Budinger, Maynor & Teague... out of that group Curry's as good a pick as any i guess.

I believe that if Curry is still there that the Knicks will take him. I also think they'll make some inquiries about getting Rubio, tho who knows how the Griz feel about Rubio for their team. With a draft like this we can't just assume that teams will stick to the Mocks for picks 2 & 3. Still it's more likely that we'll end up sticking with the 8th pick. Unless Curry is already gone, he's probably gonna be the best fit for us at 8. Maynor might be another good option if Curry is gone. I don't know about Jrue, tho he's interesting.

Regarding Curry, I find it funny that people should be so concerned about his lack of athleticism. There are so many examples of successful PG's with less than spectacular speed and hops. He plays fast enough for the position, has good size, quick hands and high IQ. The guy has shown a deft passing ability and should only get better. Will he get beat on D, surely, but he'll likely also be a guy that gets a lot of steals. Besides guys like Bibby, Sam Cassell, Nash and Stockton weren't guys with blazing speed or hops and they managed to be good PG's for playoff teams.

These kinds of threads are no good at this point. Obviously a majority of the picks might not be available for selection. If we have a poll and Curry or whoever wins 70% of the vote and he is not available at 8--what value is the thread other than who is your preference. That being said I put my vote in for Evans[and he wont be there] and I hope Donnie Walsh can use some of Dolans money to pry pick 14 from Pheonix who has been willing to give it up to get Mullens.

If Curry and Evans are off the board--I would seriously consider trading down in an effort to get a 2010 first round pick with very little restriction--i.e down to Chicago at 16 for their 2010 restricted to 3 and pick 16 and still go hard after that 14 pick from Pheonix which I think will be available. At that point I think you can choose from a pool I believe will have Teague Holiday Calathes and Lawson--get Mullens at either 14 or 16

BRIGGS, buddy, read the disclaimer i included in my initial post.

This was a "temperature" reading of the forum on WHO WE THINK THE KNICKS WILL END UP WITH (not our preference) after the lotto.

I was just curious to see right after the lotto, IF things don't change (i used the word hypothetical), who knick fans think we will end up with.

Obviously the feeling now is Curry by a huge margin.

I think we all know that it may not end up this way.

"I think there will be somebody good for us there," Walsh later said outside the NBA offices in Secaucus. "There are good guards. Not just point guards."

well, guards it is then...
