It's pretty hard to setup an alley-oop as your goto last play of the game, hence, Dwight Howard is useless there since thats his best move.

a short turn around jump hook & some improvement on the free throw line will make Dwight Howard into 1 of the best bigmen of alltime.

Bonn, you're looking WAY too deep into this. It's basketball and not statistics. Yes, you do want to give Howard more possessions. Afterall, he's your best player. However, a couple of things. He doesn't have a move he can consistently rely on. Hence, he's not as DOMINANT as an offensive player as people think. He's a dominant defensive player, but on the other end, he's simply very good. He's not in Shaq's league, offensively and Shaq was dominant. So the fact is, until Dwight develops a go to move and can be more consistent with his post moves, and more fluent, he's not going to be a go to player down the stretch. He's still going to get just as many possessions as Turk and Rashard.

Also, I damn for sure would rather have Turk or Rashard taking a mid range shot than Howard at the line.

Turk is shooting 40.9% from the field and you'd rather have him taking a shot than Howard?! Am I looking too deep or are you not looking deep enough? Are stats deep? What does deep mean anyway? All right I'm done philosophizing for now.

free throw percentage for dwight is low. you got to compare dwight to other dominant players and then you will see that dwight doesn't make the cut, so he can't really be all like 'gimme the ball more, coach' because he doesn't deserve that.

For his position do you think Lebron is a decent free throw shooter? If I was coaching against the Cavs in a tight game, I wouldn't mind putting him on the line either.

tell me about it....i coulda used Kareem, Reed, Shaq, Ewing, Moses Malone, Ralph Sampson, Bill Walton, Dikembe Mutombo(sp?), Robert Parish.....All those guys have had dominant performances in the playoffs against superior talent...

Somebody out there needs to get on TV and blast Dwight Howard for daring to call himself dominant. He has some nerve.

Exactly what i was thinking, these guys are playing in todays Centerless league kill me. DH would be as avg as they come against the centers of the 80s and early 90s. He's as one demsional as they come. Even Curry had dominated him on one occasion. You can only run a pick n roll with him, unless he's in trasition. Give me a break all he does is dunk

wasn't that the rap on Shaq when he first broke into the NBA too?

Shaq was dominant....he did alot of dunking but he finished with 28/12/2......he would average 50 on this celtic team if he was the same age as Dwight

20 / 20 / 3 type stats aren't dominant?

Here is the big difference between Shaq and howard: You could always give the ball to Shaq in the post and he scored on his man 75%, fouling out entire front lines all by himself.

On the other hand, Howard relies on offensive rebounding and plays where he can get some momentum to leap over his man to get a lot of his points. If you give the ball to Howard in the post he has a lot of trouble scoring on his man. (Except against the Knicks)

If you look at Shaq as a Rookie, he had better numbers than Howard has put up yet.
