i hear you eny, but the celts won because of being made up of traded for superstars.

Even some of the most heralded knicks of all-time have been traded for or signed as free-agents:

LJ
Spree
Oakley
Houston
Earl Monroe
DeBusschere

I want guys that want to be here. If Lebron, Wade or whoever wants to do that, I'd love them to be on our team. I love how they both play and seem very appropriate for a NYC team, to me.

Ask yourself--if you were a person in charge of basketball company--our team lost 63 games --the fan base is upset and you are lucky enough to get pick 2 in the draft and their is a consensus type player there --would you be intimidated to not pick that player under any circumstance? NO

If Ricky Rubio is what some people think he is than he is already better than any knick or combination of knicks--so there is only one way to get this player---fall into slot 2--anything else and it likely wont happen--with a slight chance at 3 or a crazy move from 1.

The NY Knicks are NOT getting Ricky Rubio from slot 8--we have a better chance to get Lebron James unless the lotto balls dictate otherwise.

Rubio is not Lebron, Shaq, or Howard coming out of college. He's a wispy teenager from Europe. Definitely not a cant miss, he could potentially miss by a mile. He can be had with a decent package if we dont secure the a top 3 pick.

taking a pg that high is risky biz. for every cp3 and deron, there is a ray felton and mike conley.

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Rubio would like to play in either LA + NY. Found this on another site.

The hype on this kid is very strong--someone on realgm--from Spain said he was measured at 6 4.5 and 190 when he was 16. If he is 6.45 190 I would love to stand next to him to compare-- Caron Butler is roughly 6.45 220. Well find out the difference my bet is 6-2 170

Evander Holyfield when he was 6-2.5 190

Maybe they used the same magic measurements you do, where a player grows and gets heavier by the post.

“My agent will speak to the teams and I’ll go to any of them,” said Rubio, who believes that the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards appear to be frontrunners.

There goes the "forcing a trade to NY" theory.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I think making the trade happen is Donnie's job.

Its just pipe dreams, but until it doesnt happen, I plan on holding out hope that DW will put together a package that one of those teams will switch picks or just straight up trade RICKY to us

There goes the "forcing a trade to NY" theory.

There is no theory, just fans and media hype.

Lets see what happens in the lottery first.

if we gave up Gallo & 2 future 1st round picks i'm pretty sure we could get a Gasol calibre player in a trade too... that is unless Isiah's the one negotiating the deal, in which case we'll end up w/a Dinglebury or Eddy Curry.

No way.

First round picks from the Lakers = trash. Plus, Grizz gave up their 2nd round picks so its practically a wash.

Critterton is a mid-level prospect at best. Gallo >>>>>>>>>> Critterton based on potential.

LOL @ Kwame Brown.

Gasol is an elite level player in his prime. What a pathetic trade.

The Knicks need to get in on some of this. We're due.

whatchoo mean no way...u don't think we can get a star calibre talent if we traded up Gallo & 2 future 1st round picks? i do... at the very least we'll be able to move up into the top 2 of this year's draft if we threw in our lottery pick, i have no doubt in my mind... the question is would it be worth it for us to do it? after what happened w/the Marbury & Curry trades i think we're better off not doing any multiple pick type trades unless we're talking about a guaranteed stud we can build around, & Pau Gasol is not a player u can build around bro... he's pretty much on a par w/someone like Zach Randolph talent wise only he doesn't carry any of the excess baggage.

Pau is a hell of a player, but even better with Odom, Kobe and company all orchestrated by the best coach in the game. With a healthy Bynum in the middle Pau gets to play his natural position.

Marc Gasol is a very good player and might even be as good as pau in a few years.

They also got serious cap room. What they do with it is a different story.

Im not saying Memphis did not get great value, but some deals always look good in short retrospect, but Memphis has assets if they choose to use them well.

Regarding Rubio, the kid will still need 2 years to really get his legs and grow into the faster pace of the NBA pro game.
