What were getting is probably a third hand statement from Lebron, and the original probably went something like this:

"CC, that is way cool you just got a boatload of cash from the Yankees"

Thinks to himself, I can't believe this overweight bum got more money than me.

Fills empty pause with

"Yea, wouldn't it be way cool if I went to NY in 2010."

I think none of us have a clue about what's gonna happen, but we all realize that chances are that he's staying in Cleveland, which is only a few minutes from Akron.

PS: There's no fix. LeBron doesn't need Stern to butt in. He can get endorsements anywhere he wants.

Guys, lebron not coming here. Wake up! I think a more suitable chioce would be dwayne wade. Lebron has it going on in cleveland with best record in the franchise history and looks like he'll be getting a title this yr so why would he leave to play for the knicks. Knicks aren't a winning team and can't be in the same sentence w/ cleveland. Guards/ small forwards rarely leave their team via free agency.

D Wade's got it made in Miami... living on South Beach surrounded by the most gorgeous women in the world in the #1 party city on Earth... the world is his oyster & he's the man there... why would he wanna leave that for NY? Lebron's in Cleveland man... CLEVELAND! think about it.

Wade's team sucks! They are better than possibly 4 best team for the next 5 yrs. Lebron 's team will be elite top 3 for the next 5 to 7 yrs so why would he leave that status? Lebron owns cleveland so he ain't leaving. I can see wade leaving the beach for NYC, the biggest stage in the world.

lol... Wade's team is going to the playoffs & they have a very talented young player in Beaseley who could be Wade's sidekick for years to come... i'd say he's in a better situation in Miami than he would be in NY if he came here... Wade owns Miami, Lebron owns Cleveland... nuff said.

Not saying too much but a birdy told me lebron's signing a new mega-deal with Cleveland after the NBA finals.

Lets hope we get the #1 PICK and choose blake griffin who will hopefull be our new franchise star.

Bosh i think will get traded this summer and where ever he goes , he will resign with that team to a long-term deal.

Stay in Ohio and own Cleveland or go to the basketball mecca and own the basketball world? Hmmmm. Tough choice.

The guy's stated goal is to become sports' first billionaire. He's going to make a calculated decision on where the best place is to accomplish that.

I believe that he thinks he can win championships wherever he goes.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Hey after all this talk, watch Wade and Lebron both come to NY and play for the knicks to form possibly the best duo since jordan and pippen.

Oh god, i think i would pass out. Imagine that one for us knicks fans. After all the torture and embarrasment we've gone through, that would be some gift for knicks fans.

we better renew or purchase season tickets next season....

I think the Yankees need to focus on winning baseball games and not on Lebron

Besides, I dont think it means much - its just speculation

That's assuming you believe there is a center of the basketball world, and that New York is that center. I'd argue that the world is flat, decentralized, and he can always get his swagger on during a road trip, light us up for career figures, do Letterman, and go home to more affordable Ohio. Chicago ain't the center of anything but the US and futures trading, and Jordan did very fine from there. New York is a great place to make career numbers, and the Knicks are always great for the box office when they are a visiting team because of all the expats. But let's not get too hyped on ourselves.

How many New Yorkers do you think would go buy Lebron stuff the minute he signed with NY? I know I would and I'm only a former NYer. What other city can offer even half that number?

That's a fair point, I can see the crowds at Modell's already. But is that enough? Say he gets a ring this year. Stay to get your dynasty or Three-peat (a registered trademark of Pat Riley Enterprises) on? Or bounce out like a dude who got the skins and ain't trying to cuddle, and start playing the heel who sold out?

Look at the supporting cast he has! If he can get a ring with that cast, then I'm convinced that it would not be difficult to build a supporting cast where he could get a ring in NYC too.

But can't the Cavs offer him more money and a longer contract than anyone else? I've heard figures that the Cavs could lock him up for 6 years/$130+MM while most other teams, Knicks included, can do maybe 5 yrs/$105MM. Or... could the Cavs get another all-star? Dude says he wants to be a billionaire but I gotta think that rings are the best way to get there. I can't see him leaving *if* the Cavs get into the Finals, let alone a ring. But I'm probably just trying not to get my hopes up. ;)

I think we should root for him to win this year.

He can get it out of his system.

Stern wants the global market and it serves well for the knicks to be the european ambassador.

Look for Rubio, lebron, gallo for marketing purpose.

Lebron can leave with his conscience after bringing a winner to cleveland.

He can say he has lived his whole life in ohio and wants to move. Lots of people move.

He can sign for 5 years and opt out to renegotiate after a sum of years shorter than 5.

Its all plausable.

Wade is pulling everyones leg.

i don't know about any of this... but i will say that if Stern is butting in on the Lebron front, it is probably for the health of the league. lebron in cleveland is boring and doesn't grab many headlines or tv ratings. lebron in the media capital of the world? he'd be on tv a lot more. he'd be a constant story, which means the nba would be a constant story. with a lockout looming, stern needs a healthy NBA.
