I am not saying Lee is great what I am saying is he has leverage now and the Knicks dont. Lee is a good deal at 35-40 now the market will command 50

As for his defense, I can live with his man to man in the post. However, his help defense is horrific to no end and he still doesn't go out after shooters aggresively. I just don't know why a hard worker like Lee is like this on the defensive end. He can be much better.

I think the best power forwards bang... Lee doesn't do that. I mean, the great ones hammer away on offense and defense. I don't think Lee likes it, and that's okay if he's the third best player on the team. Which is what makes this off-season so intriguing, for all those obvious reasons

I like Lee but the teams weakness is defense. Until the Knicks add defensive presence in the middle I can't see giving Lee a contract. Now if the Knicks can do a sign and trade then great but if they can't and they don't want to give Lee the money I can live with it too. The Knicks need a plan of action this year and we all know that Gallinari was suppose to be Lee's replacement or the PF of the future. So lets move the Lee or let Lee move on his own. The plan needs to consist of having shot blockers. Since Curry is most likely unmovable I think the Knicks need to concentrate on making use of him either to increase his value or to keep either way they need to make use of Curry. Lee can go else where. The player I would target in the second round if available would be Jarvis Varnado. He is in the mold of Randolph but a little bit raw. I think he can provide a defensive presence to the middle.

Putting BRIGGS plan into motion. Taking Evans with the first pick the Knicks lineup looks bright.

Future NYK lineup:
Gallo sf
Varnado pf
Curry c
Chandler sg
Evans sg

Letting Lee walk and getting nothing in return would be an absolute disaster.

I don't care how you feel about Lee, whether you love him or hate him, he is still an asset to this franchise and we have to get the most value out of him that we can (whether it is by keeping him or trading him down the line).

If Lee was on a different team and we had cap space, I guarantee you there would be threads about "We should sign Lee!!!." Young frontcourt players that average 16 ppg, 12 rpg, and shoot 55% are very difficult to find in this league. Bad team or not, a guy like that will always have value.

Do I think Lee's numbers are padded? Of course I do. I think the guy can grab rebounds but I certainly don't think he would average 12 boards on most of the other teams in the NBA. That doesn't matter though because Lee is on our team and he is putting up those numbers. If we were to trade him next season, I don't think his numbers would fall off very much from this season's numbers (which means we would still be able to get value for him).

Lee certainly needs to work on his help side D though. I think that area is his biggest weakness but I don't see why he can't improve. His man defense (which is harder to improve) is actually decent and there is nothing David can do about taller guys shooting over him and making a shot (e.g. Brook Lopez).

By the way, for those that really want LeBron here, how do you defend getting rid of Lee? Lee is a great offensive complement to LeBron. If you thought Duhon helped Lee at all this season, then you should be smart enough to realize that LeBron would make David look like a superstar. Guys that can finish around the basket and grab offensive rebounds are the type of big guys you would want around James.

This is Lee first year of the team really being around him. We are going to win 33 games which is ten more than last year. Now lets look at all the games we have blown this year and your looking at a playoff team. Next year draft a center sign Lee get rid of Richardson, Hughes, nate, wilcox, and get a perimeter oriented guard and your looking at a playoff team. I dont think Lee is good enough to build around but I do think he can start and be a vital piece

If they win 33 games there's a lot of gamblers that will be happy. I think we're in tank mode.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Lee will get contract from Knicks this summer and... will be traded next year to unload eddy/JJ or get star player for package with him and Nate and expiring included.
He will not be a Knick in 2010. And he will be good player on any other team.
We just have a plan which has no place for Lee.

Lee can take 50 and goto another team.
