Harden reminds me of a taller John Bagely from BC.

Posted by Vmart:Posted by JohnWallace44: You know than Evan was basically playing the 4 position for Ohio State? They played small ball and he was the mobile 4 man. What you are buying is a tweener who is on the skinny side and only possess good athletic ability. He looks like a smaller version of Caron Butler--not as big not as skilled. Not a great shooter--you're asking for a risk with this player imho. Demar Derozan comes with Jordan/Kobe type legs and proved at the end of the year how he can impact a game--just now showing a glimpse of what he can be. To me there is NO question--I don't care about who is the most ready player after Griffin or Jordan Hill--I want the best long term player we can get. If they go after Turner it's going to start again--boos at MSG--under performing player picked too high with no special skill. Demar is going to be a brand name player and tyreke is a very unusual player because of his size and the fact that he can play PG. I think it's a no brainer for me Demar and Tyreke are a few laps ahead of evan turner and we would be CRAZY to pick him over either of them. Ill be coming back here next year AGAIN to say what T fudge did we do--its like a little game--its going on 10 years for goodness sakes----try to set the bar higher when you are picking players. This is why the Gods of basketball must give us pick 1--but then I read on a few posts that Ricky Rubio would be picked over Griffin--if that happened--I might hand in my Knick badge and take up ice-fishing RIP Crushalot😞

Derozan will be gone by the time the Knicks pick. I not gonna go drooling over a player that the Knicks won't be able to get when draft comes around. Right now the Knicks are slated to pick 8-9 so I say that Evan Turner is the right pick for the Knicks. Until other wise. Besides next year they have Turner in the lottery so what is one year wait might as well take him this year if he is coming out. He has a solid all around game he is a stat filler. Like I said before If we can get Evans, Derozan or Turner the Knicks would be lucky. If they get Evans that means the Knicks can give Nate a contract. 6'6'' pg to go with Nate works as it reduces mismatches. Same can be said with Turner as he has good passing skills. Derozan needs to work that jumper but his athleticism is off the charts and with time I can see him becoming a very good player. Out of the three players I see Derozan requiring the most time to develop, Evans probably can step right in and make things happen and Turner can too. But the slow start that Derozan had at USC gives me a little doubt about his possible impact early on in the NBA. As you know best that NYK fans are quick to label players busts especially if they don't get what they want. |

I think it is possible that Tyreke Evans may have a shot at a two pick in this draft. When you can control the ball from the point like that at that size and go end to end and get to the rim at will--well there is a short supply of those players in the universe.

Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

This one's for you Briggs...
B.J. Mullens announced Thursday he would declare himself available for the NBA draft, the fifth Ohio State player in the last three seasons to leave after playing one year. The Columbus-area native averaged 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds, and shot 64 percent from the field to set a school freshman record. Coach Thad Matta, who has had to basically rebuild the program each of the last three seasons, said he was disappointed that Mullens was leaving early. "I am saddened to lose B.J.," Matta said. "On one hand, I feel another year in school would have allowed him to develop into the player I know he can be and an additional season would have been beneficial to him both personally and monetarily in the long run. On the other hand, I am empathetic to the reasons why he has chosen to leave at such an early point in his career." Alan Hahn:

Posted by JohnWallace44:Posted by BRIGGS: It seemed at one point that Evans might have slid down to us, and at least one site had us taking him, but I think his stock has risen too high at this point for us to get him unless we move up. Looks like he may be able to get the basket at will and he has a great handle from what I can see. Does he have the ability to be a true PG, or is he really a SG? I think the Knicks would take him in a second, and they would probably take him before DeRozan, IMO. I see the Knicks looking to take the PG of the future, who will be mentored by Nash when we pick him up. Evans is big, quick, physically mature for his age, can probably play D at the 1 or 2, and may be a true hybrid guard. He has to play with that jumper of his and work on his decision making, but he has a great upside. I think his overall ball handling ability and versatility puts him above the more athletic DeRozan. I did read one draft site where one person characterized Evans as "selfish," though. Has anyone seen enough of him to comment on this characterization of his game? I don't see the Knicks taking Jennings, and would not want them to take him, but who knows. His Euro trip might not have padded his numbers, but you have to think that it was a good learning experience for him. Is he a Marbury without a jump shot? Is he a floor leader or just an amazing 1/1 ballhandler "scorer" type player? Mullens should have stayed in another year. If he showed anything at Ohio State next year he would be a top 5 pick in 2010. No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee

Jennings is a complete mystery to me. I can't find any real lengthy game film of him playing in Euro league. He looks crazy in his high-school highlights, but so do 100 other guys.
Calhoun says he's one of the best he's seen in a long time. That goes a long way with me. I don't think MikeD would take him unless they were convinced that he had the goods especially with all of the other PG's available. Alan Hahn:

Here's a good recap of a Jennings vs Rubio game from December Alan Hahn:

Posted by King1: Reminds me of Jim Cleamons, who most of you have never seen, and only know as a coach. A slick but slow left-handed guard standing about 6'3." Harden also plays a 1970's style game. Cleamons put up similar stats to Bagley but had fewer assists and was a better 1/1 defender if I remember. There will be guys available who when we pick who have not been as good as Harden in college, but will be better pros. Harden may be a great kid, but my feeling is that he has a 4 cylinder engine in a 6 and 8 cylinder league. I would stay away from him. No man is happy without a delusion of some kind.
