The one thing I will add: it does look like Dave is playing hurt. Dude has no lift or energy.

Don't know what is up with Nate. And Harrington is caca unless he is in scoring mode.

Maybe he is at 60-70%. Maybe they're all at 60-70%.

You know what that means, don't you?

An Italian vacation!!

Don't make me go sebstar on you. I said it first.

Yeah but you didn't copyright it.

I guess we also learned the other 81 games dont matter?

Sure... lets let Lee and Nate go and win 25 games next year with no draft pick in 2010. Just wait for all the FAs to come play on a team that got booed everynight and trashed in the papers. That should keep everyone happy for another year.

Let me ask a basic question. If you take away Nate as your sixth man and Lee as your PF who are you replacing them with? If you cant answer the question then it's kind of idiotic to continue bashing the players.

You know I've been listening to some of you guys being cridical about Nate and Lee. Now I see there is some truth to what you are saying. Nate is a talented player but Nate is about Nate. Last night he only had 2 assists in thie whole game. Lee for every rebound he gets and every point he gets he gives up that many to the opposing team. I've seen enough. Yes I would like to see them back but a record we have this season we have a bunch of ego maniacs. Thats what you get when you have a run and gun team. Shoot first and hope that the opposing miss on the other end. We only win games if the opposing team have a bad shooting night or thier star player is down.

Hey Lets give up Lee or Nete for a first round pick in 2010 from a bad team. I was a big Nate fan but now I think he is a very selfish player. We can't go on like this. Mike D's way may get us some wins but defense is what the New York knicks was built on. Tough guys like Oakley and now we have a bunch of chumps.

Every time we get to a certain level, the professor, Vince Carter, is there to teach us that we're not even close.

We need to seriously target oversized, over athletic players in the mold of Boston, Cleveland, Atlanta, Orlando, and Philly.

Evans - Thabeet - Warren - Sanders - Christmas - Derozan - Maynor

Come on Donnie - get 'er done

if the knicks become buyers, they could have a backcourt of nash/vince next season.

I'd fully endorse a smart plan that involves the Knicks becoming buyers in a sellers market. There is too much talent to be had at low prices.

I want LeBron here as much as anyone, but if we have a shot to get some very good players right now, I think we have to take it.

that all depends on what players u'r talking about... players like Bosh, Amare, Paul, Howard, Kobe, etc... these are guys worth giving up any cap flexibility in 2010 for... u don't go all in on guys like Vince Carter... that's the same kinda logic that landed us Zach Randolph a couple years ago... Vince is not gonna get u where u want to be.

You definitely have to be smart about it.

You can bring Vince in if you get some above average talent at the other positions too. Doesn't just have to be Kobe or Paul, you can get a lot of very good players together and build a contender that way too.

if we target players like Vince, Redd, Odom, G Wallace, etc. we're just repeating the same stupid mistakes we made to get us into this crappy ass cap situation to begin with... remember Glen Rice? remember Stephon Marbury? remember Fugazy? remember Eddy Curry? remember Jamal? remember Zach Randolph? let's not be stupid & sacrifice the 2010 plan for players we know will not take us anywhere near to where we wanna get to.

TMS, Isiah's strategy of using ending contracts for talent wasn't a bad one, he just executed it very poorly by not bringing in players that fit well together.

That is why I keep emphasizing that you have to be smart about it. We're not talking about another Isiah situation here, we are talking about taking advantage of the market right now. Donnie should use Dolan's wallet as an advantage if he gets the opportunity to do so.

I'm not saying we should sacrifice the 2010 plan for just Vince Carter and Gerald Wallace, however, I do think it would be wise to take advantage of the market if some very good players (that would fit our roster) become available for a cheap deal.

The 2010 plan is fine, but to attract guys like LeBron and Bosh you need good enough talent to convince him to come. I think its foolish to put all of our eggs in one basket and basically let the 2010 FA market decide the fate of our franchise. Hell, if Walsh can get creative, maybe he can find a way to keep the 2010 plan in tact and still bring in a star before that (Nash anyone?).

"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

Funny, we managed to replace Crawford and ZBo. Nate and Lee are irreplaceable? A sixth man and a 'pF' who wouldn't guard you?

Is it bashing them to just point to the record? Parcells always says, "you are what your record says you are."

Lee and Nate have always laid it on the floor. Nobody hates them for their effort. They just haven't gotten it done as the main components of this team.

They aren't and shouldn't be the main components of the team.

This is very similar to when we ran KT out of town. Lots of people thought it would be addition by subtraction.

That's exactly right. They are great role players and you can't build a team with role players first and then stars. Nobody has done that. The way the cap is designed doesn't allow it.
