I don't think they would do this cause it would be indirectly saying that Duhon isn't as good as they thought he would be. But if they were to consider a flyer on another pt how about Jared Jordan. I know he was in camp with New Orleans but was released.

No I think it would just be saying that Duhon and Nate are injured right now its a good idea to limit their time. Thats all.

Any issues with him that we don't know about? Always thought he could be a Mark Jackson type of PG.

He has two 'on the field' issues that we do know about - he can't shoot and he can't play defense. Regarding his character, questions were raised in college, but we don't know how that carried over to his nba career.

When you shoot 38% from 3 and 80% from the foul line--wouldnt that exceed most NBA averages in terms of shooting ability?

I see what you did there, you cherry-picked the best stats from each year and lumped them together.

As another huge UConn fan, I would love to have Marcus. But I'm frankly not expecting much.

Marcus is a self-sabotager (if that's a word) and does something to mess up a situation everytime it is going well. That's just what he does. There are way more situations than the one's we've read about. This a Marcus personality trait.

This guy does really have talent. No matter what anyone says he has the talent to be in the NBA. He SHOULD be in someone's rotation. He should be a great passing PG. But something within him won't let it happen. I think bringing him in wouldn't be a bad idea. But if we don't, I'm not too concerned about it.

God Almighty, I pop in and see Marcus Williams is being talked about again?

Seriously BRIGSS? Who are you going to recommend the Knicks pick up next? Chris Smith?!

A) Marcus Williams was handed the Nets' backup PG role. He got beat out by Eddie House who can't even dribble then by Darrel Armstrong who is 100 years old!

Then to put the corn-sprinkles on that shyt-cone, Williams was beaten out in Golden state by NOBODY. The coach would rather suit himself up than have Williams play!

***

B) BRIGGS, Marcus Williams doesn't suck because Vmart insists he sucks, he sucks because he has proven he sucks 10x over.

***

C) Just stop with Williams is a version of Mark Jackson BRIGGS!

Mark Jackson in his worst out of shape season or even in his last season as a 200 year old player was 50 times the player Williams is or will ever be.

Williams is a broke man's Pearl Washington! Williams will be getting spot minutes for Maccabi Tel Aviv soon if he is lucky!

Gimme a break!

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

hmmmm....looks like he could be a younger less expensive version of Duhon. Only difference is the kid can actually take it to the rack and cover his man. Why not take a flyer, we need a back-up point guard

Marcus Williams plays defense? since when?

if the point is to tank the rest of the way then i'm all for signing up Marcus Williams... play him, D Nix, Gallo, Chandler & Chiek freakin' Sambh max minutes for the rest of the season... TANK BABY!

Well you played for UCONN back in the day right? So you are basically saying he's an *******?

I won't throw any adjectives out about him because I don't know him other than when I'm sticking j's in his face(just kidding). But I have heard many a story and have seen a little bit of it firsthand. He's just one of those guys that doesn't seem to be able to handle success. Maybe being down in the dumps is the dose of reality that he needs.

Played ball would be a stretch. I prefer to call it practiced ball. "played ball" is what some of the other guys got to do.

I see...So you just did walk on, practice, bullsyht stuff. Thats still tight, given that UCONN is one of the best and most elite b-ball programs in the world. Stories to tell the grandkids.

Bip did you ever get some run? I've been curious of that - didn't want to ask until the subject was brought up again.

I was pretty good coming out of high school. Got offers at some smaller schools like Central Ct, Sacred heart, Niagara, Miami(Ohio). I could have been pretty good at one of those schools but my dream was to play at Uconn. My problem was my size, I was always told I was too small. Calhoun gave me a shot and said if I came into the fall heavier and stronger there would be a spot for me. I tore up the summer league. Came to Uconn ready to dominate. Tore up my ankle worse than humanly possible, and that was all she wrote. My jumper never left me, my brain allowed me to compete at that level, but my athleticism was what I needed if I wanted to actually play. Hence, the practice label.

I got some run. Nothing significant or meaningful, because Calhoun doesn't know talent.
