i'm sorry, the nets run vince carter and devon harris. this is the nba. athletic players score at will all of the time since the new rule changes have come into effect.

we also don't have any shot blocker, so of course they can go into the lane and score.

could he do better?

sure, but i also hear he has been playing with a sore back, and both he and nate sprained their ankles recently.

but to you, just based on observation, this matters little. do you take these other factirs into consideration or just rail on every player at will because (also based on speculation) think all some of us want to do is see the "positive"?

we have flaws, which are magnified for a variety of reasons, but we aren't much worse than a good part of the league, even if that is sad. that's just the nba right now, and we are a developing team.

that stuff does not happen overnight, and we're in more games than we have been in YEARS.

have you noticed that? we don't get blown out, but while that's not much to brag about, it also means we've gotten better, and not one "expert" expected us to suddenly compete for the playoffs (that i saw, and if there was one, it wasn't many), but we are, even with a crap record.

the hawks didn't have a winning record last year, and have improved, and were a joke for longer than we have been.

if i read your posts only, phar, i'd think we had a terrible half...

except, while not perfect, we're winning.

We should be up by a lot more. I look at more than just the points. How are we getting the points, why is the point differential so small or so big. The Knicks are up but left a lot of points at the free throw line. While Duhon has shot the ball well from the 3 point line, he has trouble pentrating and setting up his teammates. He has allow his opponent to get back into the game.

we didn't even play that well, so why should we? plus, "should" and reality are not always the case. it's about finishing and competing. the nets aren't that bad and have some serious weapons.

do you EVER see the positive? not one post by you here is remotely positive.

i see the negative in the team, but i know that isn't going to change overnight, so let's see what we can build with what we have, and move from there.

do you not think it might be just somewhat possible that duhon is worn out?

was what he did the first half of a season not reality?

i find it almost amusing that folkss now say he sucks, after he was the mvp for the first half and a major reason we competed when we had 7 guys, playif 40-48 minutes every game.

we are getting killed on the pick-and-roll, and one assistant coach just said that they are struggling with that, but so does the entire league.

that's one of the reasons the new rule changes are making guarding some sets so impossible, and why 'dantoni's system is more effective. if the league allowed the old hand checking we'd see more "good" defense. but these guys are athletic monsters with tremendous skill and quickness. it is not easy to guard that, and duhon is generally a good defender.

All I needed to read was you say that Duhon is generally a good defender to end any debate. We have a vast difference of opinion on matters.

okay, whatever you like. there hasn't been much of a debate anyway, because you made up your mind and have yet to concede one single thing, which is generally what's called being respectful in discourse.

instead you've dismissed my entire view because i state something many people probably "generally" agree with, which has absolutely nothing to do with much of the discussion.

keep trolling away.

I disagree with your points on Duhon. I don't believe he was ever that good. I believe he was running a gimmick offense that the league has caught up to. I don't think it is conincidence that teams that the Knicks previously beat earlier in the season, defended the pick and roll a lot better the second time around and Duhon's assist have been dropping like hot cakes ever since. While I have no doubt that minutes are catching up to him, I can't use that as an excuse because at the most he average 38 mins, not Iverson's 42 or even Marbury's 40+ minutes. Besides that a coach decision who by the way said that fatigue isn't a problem. Duhon isn't a old guy. Duhon's defense has been bad since game 1. I don't know the many people that you will get to agree with you on the issue that he is generally a good defender. I mean Jeffries, Chandler and now Hughes are forced to guard his man. Also,

Who is this guy #9. He block shots and has low post moves? How did he sneak into this game.

QRICH IS AWFUL.

An absolute airball of a 3 after a phenomenal move by Nate. Get that scrub off this team.
