boozer + okur are two of the worst defensive bigs in the league.

yet utah wins games.

you can win without a defensive big man. you may not win a title. but you can win games.

Utah is a perennial also ran. Not a model team. The idea is to eventually win it all, right?

When you win the chip you are in the heaven for a year or so.
When you play right way you are satisfied for 20 years.
I would take second.
To build the Dinasty and bring both things above together is another story.
But you need all chips to come up right for this - owner, coaching, GM, players... Dreaming...

I don't get to see many games. It seems almost everyone agrees his defense is terrible. Why? Does he just not have the physical ability? Lack of effort? Lack of know how? Playing out of position?

Do you think his defense will ever improve? I've been thinking he was worth keeping but...

Because ...

not really all pure luck... when u look at all the championship winners of the past couple decades u notice that most if not all of them had a dominant defensive shotblocking presence downlow (Olajuwan, Duncan, Robinson, Shaq, Wallace, KG), & the only one that didn't had possibly the greatest player to ever play the game on the team named Jordan.

how the hell was getting Shaq (2 trades), Wallace (trade) & KG (trade) pure luck? & wasn't Olajuwon the #1 pick before they ever had the lottery? how is that pure luck?

b/c you don't plan to trade for shaq or kg. it's all about right place, right time.

sure it's about planning... u don't get a chance to trade for players like that unless u have the assets to offer in return.

but as a gm, you don't accumulate assets thinking "i'm gonna trade for shaq"...

no of course not but u can go in w/the mindset that accumulating young assets will bring opportunities to trade for bigname players later.

Oh, sorry.

Like there's a dedicated thread for the WBC games anyway.

The Knicks better think hard and wise about David Lee and Nate Robinson. What you really have is the top 6th man in the league and a really good PF. I would like to add an athletic 7 footer and possibly an additional guard to enhance the team and keep the players. I don't think Nate is replaceable as sixth man and we cant be in the business of just giving away a David Lee type talent for nothing. I think adding a C to eventually make the team more physical and finding a guard who can stay in front of someone with some length would be nice.

Trade expiring for Bosh and keep LH.
Then get Nesh for remaining of the expiring and parts.

Bosh
Lee
Chan
LH
Nesh

Nate
Al
Galo

This team can win a lot of games...

They can offer Toronto Wilson Chandler Al Harrington and 2009 lottery pick and Denver 2 for Bosh--that is more than LA gave for Gasol

You can use MLE to replace Chandler market will be nice for MLE this year.

Then you can compete next year and then be a FA player again in 2011 if needed.

I sort of made one...but it was more of a question if anyone was actually watching besides me.
Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...
So why is Lee so bad on defense?
