if we trade them for picks, I'm fine with that. Letting them go for nothing is crazy.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

the Pistons were comprised of 4 Allstar calibre players... can we get at least 1 before we start using them as some example to model ourselves after?

For all those who question why Lee and Nate might have to be sacrificed in the Knicks pursuit for max free agents, tonight's game should put those questions to rest. Lee and Nate put up nice numbers but Wade basically took a **** all over the Knicks as he basically won the game singlehandedly.

You can be competitive with players like Lee and Nate but you can't expect to be more than that without a real franchise player.

Which max fA is coming to NY that is on Wade's level--Wade Lebron Kobe? OK they'll be in NY in two years--after that its crp shoot city with players who are not good enough to take a team to the promised land.

& yet u wanna lock up guys like Lamar Odom to longterm contracts? it doesn't make sense to me... we clearly need superstars... if we can't get one in 2010 then we need to look at other alternatives, but on premise isles is absolutely right, Lee & Nate are only taking this team so far... look at our W-L record this year... we still stink & both those guys are playing the best ball of their careers... doesn't take much to figure out we need big time upgrades if we ever wanna be serious about being contenders.

LOL--I keep hearing this--can you name me the superstar that is coming here? I mean what is the plan--who is your superstar?

i can't name the superstar obviously cuz 2010 isn't even here yet... who the hell knows what will happen from now til then... i do know 1 thing, that's locking up non-star players to longterm contracts is the wrong plan to follow, unless u wanna go back to the Isiah system of building championship rosters.
is there no midde ground? Its either cling to the pipe dream or go back to Isiah? There will be a lot of bigtime players that may be forced to settle for the MLE. Odom is one of them. I certainly hope we are players in that market

IMO aiming for the middle ground is the worst possible strategy... that's the same line of thinking that kept bringing past their prime has beens like Glen Rice or Dikembe Mutombo in here, or never have beens like Nazr Mohammed, Tim Thomas, or severely flawed "stars" like Marbury & Zach... i think Odom's a good player but he's not worth sacrificing the 2010 over, i'm sorry... ur free to disagree but i think bringing players like Odom in here will do nothing but guarantee us being a mediocre team w/no shot of winning any championships... i have no idea where the 2010 plan will get us but i would rather risk it all for a big potential payday later than to just play it safe w/guys like Lamar Odom & have no shot of being a real contender... that's just me.

the only way i could justify to myself that going after Odom is a good idea is through a sign & trade where we can somehow dump 1 of our bad contracts combined w/a young asset... that keeps the 2010 plan in sight & holds value for our longterm future, not just for an instant fix solution w/little potential of taking this team to the level we want to get to.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
