I would trade Lee for a player and a pick if it makes the team better and fits into what we are trying to do. Its got to be a good deal with MORE upside than Lee. Lee is a proven commodity. You can talk system, garbage points, MDA, losing teams, whatever you want. Bottom line is players that go out and get 15+ points, 12 boards and shoot over 55% do not grow on tree and Lee should be treated as a rare commodity. He's not a star. But the production he gives you everynight makes it possible for your finishers to finish. He never gets shut down. His productiong is super consistant. You get my point.

So no... Raja Bell and pick would not do it for me.

Bell, Gerald Wallace and a draft position swap (assuming they are higher, if not their 2nd rounder) for Lee (sign and trade) and JJ would do it for me.

With Raja Bell you keep your cap flexibility

Look at what I put out there... Gerald Wallace makes $2mm more then Jefferies and would be a GREAT 3/4 player for MDA. Plus Lee is gone you cap space goes to FAs not to resigning Lee.

Bell's contract is up at the end of next season.

We don't have a 2Guard over 5'8" that can shoot.

If they offered the #8 pick and Bell for Lee, who we might lose anyway... you make that deal.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Brown covets Lee, so I wouldn't be surprise if they try to get him.

I think that Pendegraph is the David Lee of this draft. No one looking at him because he's a senior who plays second fiddle bu he has a lot of similarities to Lee. I think the bottom line is they are fixated on 2010 and I would rather get nice assets than nothing. We would be restructuring the team for the short and long term while keeping the cap flexibility they covet. As for Mullens--i don't take people who call Jerome Jordan a really good player and BJ Mullens a bust in the making to seriously.

Yeah I know you don't take 24 points 13 and 4 blocks seriously. That is what Jerome Jordan put up in his last game. BJ Mullens is a highly sought after recruit he should be dominating play. He should stay a year or two if he knows what is good for him he isn't NBA ready especially if you are drafting that high up.

I don't think Jordan is a bad player--but he is a plodder. Take a hard look at his build. But he could still be a pretty good NBA player and some team late in the first round with the right system--maybe a SA could get lucky. Mullens is a different level athlete. When he hits peak level of body and game--he's going to be a scary proposition. That is the type of player I look for. He doesnt have to dominate year 1 in college--he has to show glimpses of what he can do. When his mind and body advance--that's when you will see what he is. That is also the only reason why we could possibly draft him around 10.

Quick question, is Jordon a "plodder" like Brook Lopez was in college? I'm asking cause under the right system maybe he too will flourish. Just curious as I don't get to watch any college games.
Regarding Mullens, I'd like to see some video of him.

EMS

Here are a couple of Mullen video's--remember he is 7-1 275

to Charlotte 5 year 50mm for Raja Bell and pick 8?

Yes - I would do David Lee.

Oh there is more to the question...

If Charlotte would add the 7 foot Ajinca kid and we could get a $4.8M trade exception then YES. I would trade David Lee for that package.

We lose Lee but we get young 7 footer, solid back-up 2-guard, 8th pick in the draft, decent sized $4.8M trade exception and CAP space.

Sounds fair to me.
