He has absolutely no definition in his arms and his torso just looks like flab. If he does lift, I highly doubt he takes it seriously. Any joe shmoe would show some tone if they'd be lifting for even a couple of months. Let alone the years David's been in the NBA.

I'd say lifting would help his defense and rebounding game immensely. And it's not like he really has to worry about losing that midrange jumper.

I had thought about the same thing a couple weeks ago. I think lifting weights and building up 10-12 pounds of muscle would help his strength and ability to defend other PFs and it would probably help his postgame a little too. I don't think he would really lose much speed if it is done right. His arms look rather undefined for a PF.

Yeah, being a millionaire tends to make women overlook alot, like the fact that Lee needs to get a haircut.

If it's done right, he should GAIN SPEED. Getting stronger makes you quicker, not slower. Getting fat makes you slower. He won't be bulking up; he'll be lifting for strength.

First that girl is a sweet heart and a great person. Lee has bulked up twice over 260 and cant play at that weight. He is playing at a perfect weight and he is guarding 5 men. If Bosh was guarding a 5 would you say he needs to put on weight? Lee is 3rd in the league in rebounding, 2nd in double-double, and 6th in field goaol percentage and has a chance to make the all star team if Bosh is hurt. Whatever he is doing in the off season and during the year seems to be working.

I think he just needs to LOOK stronger, not actually be stronger.

Looks to me like Lee is checking out the rump shakers of the lady in front of him.

The question of whether Lee lifts or not has gone to new lows. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Lee is a big enough guy to hold his own. Lee is not a great athlete with great jumping ability. Nor is he a fancy driver to the basket. What Lee is 'is he has great' instincts around the basket. That is his bread and butter if you ask me. He has great foot work and if any of you notice (and I ask you to pay attention to Lee on the screen from now on) He is either approaching the basket, or under it, when a shot is taken, more than any of our other players on this team.

And because Lee is not that muscular, imposing player, he is taken for granted on the court. He is deceptive as he is elusive. And because of those traits as a player, he gets into position easily. Why on one has figured this out on the court is a little beyond me. So he has good feet and good hands, has great instinct underneath, is always moving and paying attention, is not muscularly imposing and yet 'a big enough body' to fight for a rebound underneath.

That folks is in my opinion why our man Lee looks the way he looks. He may not look awesome, but he is definately effective.

Don't believe me? Watch him from now on. Just watch him on a t.v. screen from now on and you'll see his moves and were he is at all times and where he ends up when a shot is taken. You'll notice that he's not just standing around with his thumb up his nose. As a matter of fact, it's amazing what you see in a player if you just watch that players moves constantly. Try it with each player and you'll see how they move and why or why they aren't as effective as others or as effective as they can be.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Lifting doesn't mean getting bigger. It means getting more powerful. Also note the difference between strength and power. Power = strength + speed.

Lifting weights definitely helps with defense. Ewing never won defensive player of the year. Zo got it twice. Ben got it four times.
