It makes more sense for a team like the Spurs because they're not looking to get under the cap.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yeah, I figured it would have to be a contender that would want to go after VC. I think he gets moved because the Nets aren't doing anything as currently constructed.

They could move Harris to the two and start Dooling and still be in the hunt for the eigth spot. Thorn usually fleeces his trade partners so my guess would be that Carter doesn't go to San Antonio.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

If the plan is to keep Lee, which I can see doing based on his play of late...

We have to get a 4 that can run and block shots. You're talking, an AK47, Josh Smith type player... and you need a 2 guard that can shoot it, defend, and cut down on our turnovers.

Maybe a trade with Charlotte for Diaw and Bell wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Can either of those positions be addressed with players in the upcoming draft? SG I can see. A shotblocking PF that can run... I'm not sure if that guy is out there where we'll be picking.

i've been pointing him out for a long time but Patrick Patterson fits the bill of what you're looking for in a PF.

Jordan Hill is another guy u should keep a lookout on, but at this rate both those guys might be taken in the top 10 & we might be picking just under... how typical of how things always seem to go for this franchise.

That is true. Look how close we were to getting Mayo last year and he would have filled a real gaping hole for us.

Will something happen? I wonder if the next two games have a barring on what we will do. If we lose both we will be at the high for the year-10 games with 28 to go.

Get Amare here ASAP if they want to save the season and the NYK future.

Harrington, Malik, Nate and a future protected number one.

You can't trade another #1. I don't care who we get in here.

We should however, trade our 09 pick for a 2010 pick for cap reasons.

Niner... nine days to go Walsh.

Get Isiah on the phone. Ask him what trade he would make. Then do the opposite.

Then ask him who he would draft and do exactly what he says.

If I had to guess what big name player was coming to NY -- I'd have to figure AMARE.

I could see the son's taking back Marbury, Lee and something else in exchange for Amare and potentially Barbosa.

The Sun's could sell Lee to their fans and if they were unable (or unwilling to resign him) at the very least they would have lots of cap options.

Lee, Harrington, Malik & Nate for Amare & Barbosa i think is the most likely package if something gets done.

A smart GM would take Lee and Nate back. A dumb GM will want the high profile, former #1, Beasley.

I have no confidence in Kerr making a smart choice.

Lee playing with Shaq, you would think would be a force to be reckoned with. Nate is an equally skilled player to Barbosa at a much cheaper cost.

I don't believe the Knicks will make any moves, although they would be smart to try and see how much value Nate has and try to trade him with Jeffries or Curry. His value probably isn't THAT high though.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

If Nate doesn't have 1st round pick value, then you tell him that at the negotiating table and sign him to a deal that favors the Knicks and say thank you very much.

one week and one day folks...

What's the thought out there? Is someone willing to take Curry to get Lee?

No GM in their right mind would take Curry, or JJ2. There's too much money left on both contracts. Curry shouldn't be in the NBA, his career is finished. I sincerely hope he works out his financial problems because he's in for a major lifestyle change when his contract expires. JJ2 is another bad contract for an underachiever. He does give you effort, but who's going to pay 15M for effort alone. Problem is, you can get so much more for their combined 40M+/-

No-one is going to give up anything for Lee and N8 at this point and I doubt we're going to give up our 2009 or 2011 1st rd. draft picks in any deals. Chandler's reserved personality is a problem and Gallo has back troubles already at 21 years old. Our best trade chip appears to be Marbury's expiring, but Walsh doesn't appear to be willing to take back salary or more bad contracts. Harrington is moveable, but his contract expires at the right time so I'd say he's not being moved for anything that expires past 2010. Q isn't moveable until next year when he's expiring and Rose plus anything we have to offer isn't going to amount to much.

It's not looking good for any significant moves by the deadline. I'll bet Walsh and his team are already thinking about the summer. He seems content to ride the year out w/o taking on any more salary or contracts that don't expire by 2010, and why should he? Walsh has already done a masterful job of manipulating the media and the fans. We're all excited that we're going to suck, just not that badly, for another year and there's light at the end of the tunnel....Lebron and the rest will play us and everyone else to get max dollars and we'll start talking about 2012. Life goes on. It's a sow process to get out of the hole previous GM's dug, but we're digging.

I say nothing major gets done by the deadline unless someone wants our expiring's badly enough to take Marbury or Rose. Our 'big' move will probably be to bring up PEJ from the D league on a 10 day contract. The biggest headlines will be Marbury when he starts freaking out when we don't buy him out before 3/1.
