PEJ would be a nice, cheap add to the team. we could use an energy, rebounding forward off the bench.

let's all hope he doesn't smoke the kush or else he might end up getting traded away to open up a roster spot for another Anthony Roberson.

Just as long as it's another contract that ends on time.
I'll never trust this' team again.

PEJ will be on the team before the end of the year. No doubt in my mind.

As you can guess, I'm praying the same, but I say by the trade deadline or just after.

The holdup imo:
We are holding onto Roberson as filler (Just in case of a trade).
Still waiting on the status of the DPE.
Still waiting on Marbury.

Can't wait to see Jr. in a Knicks uniform. For those of you pissed at seeing us pass on talent in the last draft (2nd round) and with some other players, wait till you see JR. in two years, I say he will be better than Balkman or Ariza, much better and with a better all around game clearly.

That's not really much of a comparison. As a matter of fact, if he's just better then either Balk or Ariza, then I'm not that impressed.

I didn't state my point clear. I brought those guys up because though they were role players, it seemed like they were fan favorites. Don't forget that Ariza is now a solid rotation guy on a GREAT team. Talent wise, I think Jr. is on a whole other level. I noted that Ewing does a lot of things beyond them, like pass, shoot and is a better defender (doesn't depend on athleticism like Balkman for example). I just didn't want to jump the gun and compare him to to high of a player cause he was coming off the bench in college and now is in the d-league so I was just tempering my enthusiasm. I really love the kid.

Even though it's d-league you can see improvement. I think he is just a late bloomer with ELITE athleticism. When you combine that with intelligence, team play, great defense, very good passing skills and VERY hard worker you have a player who could bloom to be special, just a bit later than the average player. Ewing Sr. had size, but it took him a bit of time to develop a game away from the basket. Jr doesn't have the size so has a longer way to go, but you can see the player he will become.

Another GREAT game from JR. D-League or not, the kid is putting up some numbers. Game high (tied) in points!

Another start for a game high 45 minutes:
26 points, 11 rebounds, 8-10 FT, 4 Ast, 3 BS, 1S, 3PF (notes - no 3 pointers attempted, no offensive rebounds.

Ewing Jr. Helps Bighorns Get Revenge on Flash
RENO, NV, Jan. 31, 2009 -- Patrick Ewing Jr. and Damone Brown combined for 52 points and 23 rebounds as the Reno Bighorns snapped the Utah Flash's four-game winning streak with a 104-93 victory on Saturday night.

Ewing and Brown each scored 26 as Reno rebounded from Friday's 36-point defeat to Utah. The Bighorns had to overcome an early 12-point first-half deficit in this one before taking control in the second. They outscored the Flash, 30-19, in the third quarter.

Former Syracuse standout and national champion Gerry McNamara registered 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, while Russell Robinson contributed 10 points. Reno shot 45 percent from the field and 84 percent from the free throw line (26-of-31).

Utah's struggles came from behind the arc as it connected on just 5-of-17 attempts (29 percent).

Dontell Jefferson paced the Flash, who committed 17 turnovers, with 21 points, while Andre Ingram scored 16 and James Lang had 13.

Reno will look to build off this impressive win when it visits the Tulsa 66ers on Thursday. Utah will also take its act on the road when it clashes with the Bakersfield Jam on Tuesday.

Donnie, don't let him slip away...

edit - just noticed they had lost the night before by 36 to the same team.
not a bad game by Ewing that night. 34 minutes, 10 pts (3-9), 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 2 TO

Last nights game:
Team high 41 minutes played, 5-13 for 23 points, game high 15 rebounds, 13 - 14 FT, 5 AST, 5BS, 1PF, 2TO

Not a great shooting night, but he had what looks like an all around very good game. This against an apparently terrible team. He is hitting his FT at a very high clip.

(Hope you guys don't mind the updates...)

PEJ would be much better than Jefferies right now if he were on this squad, i have no doubt about that whatsoever.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Balkman would probably be better as well.

Oh, well

I noticed that Jr. got two DNP's the last two games. Don't see anything in the news. Anyone?
